no it wasn't day seats - eliff. they weren't sure when exactly they would be ready to go with previews so held off selling seats until they were certain. shoomshoom - i think regular seats are sold out until june so a preview might have been worth seeing.
In other words, pay £20 so that they can re-calibrate their play to better-suit their public opening for cheaper price (economy of scale) - normally people get paid/thanked/appreciated to share their opinions, not shafted like this. Cold.
From the sound of it its just "day" seats, all the shows do this and have a small amount available cheaply each day for personal callers. In honesty this sounds worse than other shows as you have to turn up early to register an interest and then go back later for a "lottery" - at least with other shows you know there and then if you've got tickets (and if not have time to find something else) From the website "Twenty-one top-price tickets for each performance will be sold through an on-the-day lottery at the theatre for just £20 each. Entries will be accepted at the box office beginning two-and-a-half hours prior to each performance for up to two tickets. Two hours before curtain, names will be drawn at random for a limited number of tickets priced at £20 each. Only one entry is allowed per person. Entry cards will be checked for duplication prior to drawing. Winners must be present at the time of the drawing and show valid ID to purchase tickets. Limit one entry per person and two tickets per winner. Tickets may be purchased in cash or with a valid credit card. Tickets are subject to availability. "
clarification - you've got to go in person for the preview tickets - NOT ONLINE.

Thankyou very much OP. Wife has been very keen to see this show. Booked row K17 and 18 after reading reviews on seating; most suggest avoid rows B to F due to height of stage. Figured premium seats are in row L, so choose in front of them.
This is a great show. Ordered, many thanks for posting.
Fantastic show! I took my now-fiancee there on the evening I popped the question back in October, good times. Would go again, especially at these prices
Yes, in exactly one years time.
Try other days i managed to get row O on 10th August. Thank you OP been wanting to buy tickets for this for my wife for ages but its been just too expensive
BEst show I've ever seen, been twice (first time ever returning to same show) and would like to go again - haven't had feedback on new cast yet tho. Took my parents for their golden anniversary, they loved it too!
Go see it anyway. It's a fantastic show.
