Looks like the Black Friday voucher code is live on the main dell site (not sure if works on outlet) it also works on exsisting deals and gets you 15% off purchase.

Still trying to decide if I make my purchase now or wait till Black Friday :/
History has taught me that black Friday is a massive let down
Anyone have thoughts on Dell? I can't say I've ever really used them, but am looking for a good BF-type deal on a laptop. The XPS15 (ignoring the i9 which apparently runs very hot) ticks a lot of boxes, but I read some really iffy reviews which worry me (mainly quality control of the units)

I'd expect for £2k quite a lot of quality - but I'm unsure as to rival options?

Originally I was going to get the Asus Zephyrus GX502GW (still an option) but I decided may be a full on gaming laptop may not be what I actually need.

Any suggestions? I use desktop mainly, but would like a laptop for working, video editing and gaming when away from home.

I am a Lenovo Thinkpad user, absolutely love them, I have the T480s at the moment as I need more connectivity than the X1 Carbon. That said, I have used a few Dell XPS laptops and was impressed, they did tempt me to switch but I've been using Thinkpads for so long now I find it hard to change. Maybe take a look at the Thinkpad ranges and compare the cost/spec/reviews to XPS alternatives.

The one in the text the new all in one 24inch i7 to replace my 10+ year old dell studio I use for design work
Doesn't seem to work on any of the monitors listed on the deals page annoyingly.

I'm sitting tight for the moment but finding it increasingly difficult. I don't know why I fall for it every year...

I've been using Dell laptops for work for the last couple of years - the XPS line is great, my current 2017 XPS13 9730 is relatively snappy, has a great display and has more than enough power for the development work I do whilst being small and light enough to lug around. On the negative sides, the fan's started to make a bit of a grinding noise and the integrated graphics aren't up to snuff for gaming.

DigitalFoundry did an interesting review of the new XPS13 2-in-1 where they got it to run the Crysis trilogy at acceptable framerates (youtube.com/wat…_M0), models later than mine do appear to have better chops for gaming.

It may be worth investing in an eGPU if you want to use it as a full desktop replacement though, but you'll pay a framerate penalty for piping data over Thunderbolt and back.
