Some good deals. The E-M1 II with the 12-45 is at a really good price
Olympus is selling its photographic business, be sure to check how this affects warranty as olympus will probably no longer be a retailer of photographic equiptment so you will not have a point of contact for repairs. I dont know how this is being managed with the selling of the business buying direct may not be a wise choice at the momment! Just be aware this is happening as it may affect you later

From what's going on, the imaging business is going to be carved out and become a standalone company under new management. I doubt warranties will be affected as obligations will be transferred. This isn't a liquidation....

You'll be fine buying from Olympus, just be wary about future direction. I doubt M-1 series bodies have a future now

According to what I've read, the market for cameras has been substantially reducing over the last few years as the quality and performance and ease of use of the cameras in mobile phones has improved. So I understand other manufacturers such as Pentax are also feeling the pinch.
Having made a choice at Olympus, you can always try price matching through Currys/PC World or John Lewis, particularly, if you want a three year warranty

Its more marketing than quality, and people convincing other people there £1000 phone is the bestest at everything. Otherwise, why would it cost so much?
But the end result is indeed a severe reduction in the proper camera market.
Which seems incredibly backward when we have bigger, cheaper and higher resolution ways of showing our images.
I'm a Fuji user but I love the tiny size of the Olympus kit!

But people nowadays (myself included) feel lost without their mobiles. A phone can be slipped into a pocket. A camera generally can't. Traditionally it was slung round you neck. Somehow that looks slighlly eccentric nowadays, unless you're a tourist

Do people need the resolution of cameras? The first thing you're likely to do is reduce it in size, for manipulation and even more if you're going to email it.

Ok, you can select an area with only a small reduction in quality. You can of course completely manually control aperture and speed and ISO, but these features are becoming available on phone cameras, as are interchangable lens.

Me too but bought into this system when I needed reach and didn't want Fuji 100-400.
