I bought an item for £27. NO charges or anything. That's why i love that website

This has always been the case

Not really such a hot deal

 Looked good fun.

Ordered 3 for the kids @ £2.28 delivered. Paid by & went though my very under used paypal account. Unsure if this makes a diff ???

Hot for a bit of fun

These are $1.90 each.

If you buy 3 and use the bulk discount offer you will actually PAY MORE for this item than you would if you didnt use the voucher.

$1.90 x 3 = $5.70 + Free shipping

Use the promo code BULKRATE on three items and your basket value becomes $6.24. MORE THAN NORMAL. This is because by using the BULKRATE voucher it initiates a mandatory $1.70 Package Tracking Service fee. So although you save $1.46 you are charged $1.70. (not much but it's the principle of the matter)

SO if you want 1 or 2 of these just buy 1 or 2 (as the code only works for 3+). If you want only 3 then just buy normal without the code. If you want more than 3 then use the code as for 4 units + it does work out cheaper.

by the way that might of happened cause for bulk orders (basically when you enter the code) they have to add $1.70 tracking ****. So if you order 4 of that item you may get a slight discount.

Ok, I'll explain this feature to people

This code enables the bulk pricing, encouraged by DealExtreme on their actual website. If you are buying say 3+ or 5+ or 10+ or something, it enables the offer price for that particular item. At the same time it adds $1.70 shipping which is a bit annoying, but you do get registered airmail - remember for posting in the UK alone we have to pay 75p(Approx $1.50) for registered post at the post office on top of postage so it is a bargain and peace of mind.

So it adds $1.70, then discounts accordingly depending whatever the saving is on the item you buy in bulk - MOST of the time (if not all the times) you will SAVE MONEY - you can even check in the checkout at the end by how much they discount and add to the order.

Hope that helps - DX don't explain it very well, they're too busy cutting prices!

I believe the customs limit is £18 so about $35

they send as gifts...

The £18 limit still applies (because it's a gift sent from a company, not an individual).

Having said that, at least one person on here claims to have never paid customs and VAT charges (although I don't know if it would be the same if the value was £327 instead of £27).

There is no guaranteed way of getting items through without customs & VAT charges.
Ticking the "gift" box, putting a lower than actual value, sending it as a zero value sample, etc. are all ways of tricking the system.
But...revenue & customs (or whatever they're called this week) are still permitted to open random packages, make their own estimate of value (rather than taking the senders word for it), and charging duty based on their own valuation.

Think this should be a tip rather than a 'deal' as it is a permanent DX feature - wholesale(ish) prices for bulk purchases............

$1.20 saved ,thanks

Remember - you get charged $1.86 (from memory) for using "BULKRATE", so make sure the extra mandatory tracking fee is outweighed by the saving!

They have merged Inland Revenue and Customs and Excise and become HM Revenue & Customs. This is the first and only time the name has changed.... Get over yourself!

This is back on the front page why?

Adding this adds an 80p (ish iirc) charge so you need to check it IS cheaper.

Will have to try this

I've recently received an order from this company, two different items, and both were substantially different than illustrated on their website. Neither description stated that the goods may be a different style / colour shown. One item was a number of glow in the dark pet collars that unfortunately do not glow in the dark. was promised a reply in less than a week - 9 days later nothing. very disappointed and escalating through paypal now so buyer beware!

I do a lot of online shopping, and nearly all of my experiences have been good if not exemplary. Shame they all don't wotk out that way

Same thing happened when I went to buy Invisible Ink Pen LEKSVIK, ordered 3, price was higher WITH discount.

7 month "tip" but I didn't know about it and I use dx regularly. Heat

They are still thieves, liar and cheats. More corrupt than the public they "control". Then the public's money is used for ****** political causes and less is used for the public. It is so difficult for a small business to import to the UK as these rip-offs take a good chunk out of it so forgot about any decent profit.

The slowest burning 'deal' ever? This has taken 1 year and 4 months to hit the front page :w00t:

pay 1p get the dx logo removed so as to appear its a GIFT from an individual
