Been searching for a good auto deal (not electric) anyone got a hot pick?

Early1800

I've commented before on the '1 litre, pah,I need 0-60 in sub 4 seconds brigade' but even I wouldn't want this. 60hp was fine when cars weighed less than 1000kg, not this one's 1500kg. I think it's only there to be able to advertise a low price to get people interested who then spend another £1,500 on the 95hp turbo (58% more umph! ), or much more on high spec 95hp versions.

phanco

I agree - wasnt as bad as I expected it to be, but very noise when revved (and you had to keep revs high to make any progress). TSI is a much smoother and more refined offering. But for city driving its not the end of the world and the rest of the car is excellent in terms of space and comfort.

ezzer72

A 1 litre, non turbo in a B segment car is a really bad idea - definitely VW Group pushing their luck a bit too far.

vulcanproject

£12k new, value after 3 years and 15k miles is about £6k. So the deal is on the money, not great, not bad. At the risk of blowing up the thread as per every single one of these I would say the one litre 59bhp is under powered, if you use it in town and drive defensively out of town it'll pull the car about absolutely fine with few complaints. I have no issue with that scenario. More than this though..... There's nothing for overtaking, going from merely 40-60mph in fourth needs a calendar and a space shuttle runway to safely go past so manage your expectations. Much on here is made of car performance and much is overblown. I personally feel this should have a little more pep though.

Anyone received their car? If so, what was your experience with dealing with them? Also, are you happy with the car? Thanks in advance.

PierremontQuaker

Looks like it’s expired??

Lady at work has just got one of these on lease. She's paying £175 a month for 8k mile pa with no maintenance and 9 months initial payment . Showed her this with 6 months initial payment and maintenance included for £150 and she is gutted.

95 hp and over 11 seconds to 62 mph... (lol)

Just got this through as an email. Good price but low miles. However when you increase the mileage it's really very good. Double the mileage is only an extra 30 quid a month. And… Read more

I had this car previously and as has already been mentioned, the 2L petrol is underpowered, the 2.2 Diesel is a must for this car. That aside, the infotainment is still a few years behind most brands (I had to flash Android into it a few years ago to make it usable) Other than that its brilliant, its a real looker especially in the soul red with the chrome grill.

csdt3

Yeah. I ordered 10.

UKNOWIT

Sorry do not go for this car.... I have got 2.2l diesel sport and it genuinely goes zoom zoom!! If you are going for the newer model go for the 2.3l GT. It looks the money and works hard when you need it. The 2.0 petrols does not drive well and does not pull as much as the diesel versions.... Also the diesels are excempt if you are living in London!

FlangeNut123

Last year. Yes :)

Ive got the last gen Mazda 3 with the 2.0 - great to drive but needs heaps more power . Can't imagine an estate would pull that well with a similar engine.

I'm currently browsing lease deals, I didn't think this looked too bad, what do you reckon? 36 month £150.32 initial, £150.32 a month with £198 fee, 5,000 miles.

That arch gap makes the baby Jebus cry 🤢

I've cancelled my order as it was 7 weeks since my order and I still hadn't received a build week. I'm now getting an "in stock" (the car is at the port in the UK) Octavia First Edition, it is £193 on a 1+23 with delivery on 1st March.

Paq

Sure it is nice mid sized car I can't say I love it as I have just downgraded from 6-series BMW but it has nice features like pan roof or virtual cockpit. I would not buy it but good as a cheap lease car. If you take it make sure you chose DSG model.

monkeyhanger75

Car insurance not included in these lease deals due to the huge variability in risk for drivers causing a huge variability in insurance premiums. Has anyone asked whether you need car insurance or pet insurance if you have a pug?

rooney10

Some Leasing companies do offer an all inclusive lease which includes insurance / maintenance but this particular deal does not include these extras. All leased cars include vehicle duty (VED) though.

Think you right mate ! After watching Watchdog 9/5/2018 . Why on earth would anyone want to spend money on a over priced match stick like BMW's (

It is a weirdly proportioned car and looks terrible. It has no ergonomic class, style or charisma - not my opinion, look at it! A car for the Mrs or a teenager.

Not a fan of the back of the 2 series, find it ugly. Rest looks great though. Cold for me

This deal was previously £80 for a Golf Match with similar sort of spec from SelectCarLeasing.

MynameisM

what do these lease companies get if someone sticks to the mileage and doesn't damage the car as looking at cars pricr after 2 years they are less than the price someone pays for the lease u can pick up a used one for around 15k/16 on 16 reg new price is 21k for this so after 2 years in assuming these would be difficult to sell for say 21k minus the 5k they would get back on the lease payment or is there some other nack to thus business of leasing companies

Actually not a bad deal for the car. Golfs seems to be very well spec'd these days too. Diesel vs Petrol when it comes to leasing is often a moot point, as the pricing pattern doesn't always follow the new car market e.g. in leasing a diesel can be cheaper than a petrol (from my experience).
