Nah they don't do any credit checks. These are basically pre paid cards turned into current accounts via the app. It has no effect on your credit score and shouldn't even appear on your credit file

Yes, as far as I know. Everytime a credit check if done by any provider. Your score reduces..

This being like a bank account, I don’t think it will affect your credit score. But I am not an expert. So let’s wait for someone to come up.

I don’t think so, the website says

“Open a GBP and EUR account using your mobile in minutes, with no credit checks and no proof of address required.”

So how do they make money? Advertising within the app?

I'm curious...

Ah it seems there are some fees unless you own a premium account at £14.99 a month.

Would you like a Sub until it comes through ?

maxmix
Have to pay £4.95 delivery fee for your debit card on the standard plan. Any idea when they take that from your account if you don't have money in it yet.

Your score doesn't just reduce as a result of a credit check. It's repeated checks and denials or acceptances in a short period of time. That's why most Credit Card and Loan applications will tell you not to try again within 3-6 months unless they contact you first even if accepted.
Trustpilot overall says it's a decent site at 13k reviews averaging 4.5 stars but the recent ones are around 1-3 stars.

A quick search also says they only have about 370 employees. Assuming they aren't outsourcing their customer service then this is an incredibly small number to be working with if they want to be responding to any issues within a decent amount of time

COLD

I tried to open an account with these few months ago but it was stuck at verification stage.
Emailed them a hundred times and they didnt even have the courtesy to reply.

Eventually deleted the app after a few weeks of no luck.
No other banking app I've signed up to has been so slow and have a lack of customer service.

Monese are just out to collect your information.

Avoid like the plague

its not rubbish at all, took nearly 2 month to fully open my account, four weeks stuck at verification stage before they even replied to say what i needed to do to verify my account, another 4 weeks later after doing this that the other and then a week more each time they asked me to prove something my account was finally open. took them over a week at first to reply to my email asking what was going on.
Done

It worked for me about an hour ago so I wonder if there is a limit to how many times it can be used. I cannot remember if I topped up first or not as maybe this makes a difference.

Did you register with the free account as by default it tries to set you up on £4.99 version

HEy it worked that way. Just hope I can still get the £15 extra
Over a week and no response to e-mail or chat requesting help over account being verified. I had received notifications saying that it has but when opening up the app it’s not.
