Ah the old the more expensive guitar I buy the better I'll sound chestnut 😁. ...joshing aside Ive seen a few signature guitars .. especially in the sub grand range ....there's a couple I wished I'd had bought at the time . ...... they've all gone up in value ...sometimes doubled.
I think it's true of most things in life: you won't really appreciate how good the best of the best is, unless you first have the crap, indifferent and average so you can compare them. But, if you can afford it, you'll always be tempted.
But it gives you something to aim for by leaving it in the corner of the room
Oh I know. My first comment was meant tongue in cheek. I’ve not played in so long :S Keep an eye on GumTree and Facebook Marketplace for second-hand bargains. Doesn’t have to be new to be a dream guitar (y)
Yeah, true. But someone like me who can't play yet...just can't justify a 2k guitar as my first. Even if it's my dream..

Epiphone Flying V Prophecy Guitar, Black Aged Gloss - £699 @ Gak£699 Free P&P Free
The 2020 Prophecy series from Epiphone with Fishman pickups. These RRP at £799 at most places. GAK also have the Extura models (Both colours) at this price but not the Les Paul or … Read more
Yup, plus along the higher pricetag (for Epiphone standards) you also get real pickups, nut, hardware, etc, rather than cheap pot metal stuff. If it also had stainless steel frets I would probably buy one right now, but as it is I think I will wait for a B-stock or used one, should be around the 500 mark.
We are never done buying guitars ha Agree with you about the diamond inlays, they look really nice and I think the slightly space age covers on the pickups really suit the V. Its a nice line, not cheap but feels like the one where Epiphone is offering something a littel different rather than just being a copy of Gibson.
Oh wow, you are right. That really makes a huge difference for me. Dammit, right when I thought I was done buying guitars... Definitely adding this to the list. O actually think it even looks better than the Gibson version. If it isn't a Les Paul, I frankly don't care if it's Epiphone or Gibson. The headstock and the "diamond" inlays look great. I think it might sell one of my guitars and grab a Prophecy.
I believe the whole prophecy line has 24 frets (y)
Looks awesome, and good price for the specs - shame flying Vs only have 22 frets, would love a 24 fret version.
Well I'm another one who thought Tim Armstrong was an astronaut :/ ...ground control..etc etc
I was a huge rancid fan and saw them back when touring on the strength of and out come the wolves but I think they really sold out with the really expensive gretsh signature model whilst singing about living in slums. Shame they didn't do something affordable like an epiphone es 335. At least this is affordable I suppose. Anyway heat for the deal.

1.5k new for the head then you have options of going straight to monitors or you buy a speaker, pedal board. Was in reply to the person saying you can compare an amp to a computer. Most guitarists disagree when they try the kemper. Having used one for 2 years they are better than an amp because of the space/weight saving and sheer number of parameters that you can adjust. Also they dont break down and require the maintenance of valve amps.
Bit unfair to compare to a kemper .... How much are they....2 or 3 grand ?
Have to agree to disagree on this one. I work at a very cool venue with 10 decent house amps mashall, orange stacks fender twin and roland jazz amoung them. The kempers are incredible, their sound live is great and for broadcast mixes they are fantastic. I was sceptical to start with but i am won over.
Wow, thats expensive for a small amp.

Fender Player Duo-Sonic £100 off - £369 @ Gak£369£46921% off
A nice price and a nice finish on this one. Very cheap for a Fender! This is Squier money.
Depends on your environment, the quality of leads and shielding of the electronics mostly. If the environment is 'quiet' then they should be fine, but if you have fluorescent lights or an old CRT present then it's likely to be a problem at higher gain settings.
What is hum like on P90s? Especially when over driven?
I feel unbalanced just looking at the picture 😁 (y)
