shame it is out of stock.

mreriksen

this is not a high end TV, mid range if I'm not mistaken :). The PJ is for my cinema room, the TV is for my living room which is due for upgrade this/next year. But since I went way, way, way over budget on my projector, can't afford getting a new TV :).

fringiee

Projector vs high end tv like this one?

mreriksen

Now that’s a great price for a decent LCD TV. Really bad timing as I just upgraded my projector. :( great deal!

Have the 65" version, great tv.

philips ! never again ...

Mrsweet

You're very welcome and I'm glad if it helped a little bit :)

catmeow

That's really helpful thank you, think I will go with the LG :)

Aulie_L-C

Panasonic typically has better out of the box calibration. Good motion processing too. They are all LG panels but processor in the Panasonic is superior. I personally went for the gz950 and don’t regret it.

chukkychukky

Can anyone comment how this compares to the Panasonic GZ950 or the GZ1000? Is PQ superior in the Pannys?

Where I’ve seen ambiance it was only on during a movie. I guess gaming would be good too. I’m presuming it’s not on for normal TV or am I mistaken?

AC.Valentine

This deal is back with delivery. Listed at £989 but £90 instant cashback applied at checkout = £899

I think it divides opinion. I've seen that thunderstorm demo too which looks fantastic. I personally think the Ambilight is good and adds to the viewing experience in a lot of situations - but with settings quite low so it adds to the experience rather than distracting from on-screen action. I don't tend to use ambilight in very dark films e.g. Horror films.

twotone1954

Is the ambient light just a gimmick or does it add to the viewing experience. I did watch a demo on YouTube with a thunderstorm and it looked amazing as all demos usually are,

That is so so true. (lol) (lol)

fureddo

The best part is that for most of us, when we can afford the equipment needed to play back fully lossless audio we have lost so much hearing we may as well not bother.

david49

And to get the digital signals back into some thing we can hear we convert it back to analogue and as fredh says... the spec was designed to give only very small compromises that should be inaudible to the normal person. I think if the format was being developed now the data rates and frequencies would be a bit better but hey-ho. And didn’t they cover CD’s in jam on tomorrow’s world - it doesn’t get better than a format that can be treated like a good slice of Warburtons!

david49

MP3?

Ricky302

More durable that the diamond on the stylus (confused) the fact is, from the very 1st play records start wearing out, unlike CDs, 1st play or 100K play they sound exactly the same.

Just watched Jumanji dvd (not Blu-ray). Amazed with the picture quality. Who needs 4k lol. Seriously, am delighted with this TV (55" model).

Bavy

I keep telling people to update, for some reason the xf9005 dosent update automatically, lot of friends have this tv and I had to update it manually for them

gsj87

Updated it last night and it's made a massive difference. Not laggy anymore, much more responsive. Thanks!

scorryuk

I bought this model. Very pleased. Legs are fine. Sits well. New remote and smart features very good and step up from older models.

Smartguy1

They do look like that. I have the 55" as of Monday this week and I can't for the life of me think why they are silver when the TV I black. They do work though and the TV is stable unlike the LG TVs that have the curved wing stands. They wobble like jelly. My last TV was painted in gun metal and looked stunning so I managed to find a pair of Sony legs on eBay and bought them to paint to match the TV. One thing I will say about the feet though is they are real easy to fit. Just lift the TV up in one corner and slide the foot under and then the same at the other side. No having to put your TV face down to attach the stand.

And i have had an LG E9 and the Sony absolutely blows it out the water in up scaling and motion , it is night and day difference, anyone who states differently either has not seen them side by side or needs an opticians appointment lol. I agree though it is a rip of compared to other brands, which i don't agree with. Sony are quite greedy.

johnro

I own a 75q9. I know how to tell quality . After using mine for 2 years now I dont believe a top of the range is a must have . A lower end does good as well (not best) Well, thanks for your time boys and girls .

burgo1

I already explained one of the key things you are missing a couple of posts above but you've glanced over it not realising the gravity of the difference between the two technologies, the difference is huge. Many LCDs picture angles are very narrow, the picture quality starts to drop off as soon as your not directly in front of it not just at 65°. Rubbish if your living room has a wide seating area. It's hard to convince someone who is shopping for the cheapest TV why others shop for the best quality. Why buy a Mercedes CLS when a Dacia Sandero will get you to the same place?

Metalex

All OLEDs have similar base specs, as they all use LG panels. You pay extra for better processors and extra features.

johnro

Its 1k with john lewis and 5 years warranty. 6 years richer sounds Been 900 with bt shop I'm not trying to sell it here. Only trying to justify the extra 1k for the same (or really close) specs .
