Just thought I'd revisit the post and saw this. As far as cases are concerned, I ordered the following: A bit costly, but does the job. Only wish it had a screen protector too. It really is slim pickings where cases for this device are concerned ;( Had the CT10 a few weeks now and found the following: Paired with Sony wh1000xm3's which support Aptx HD, and the music sounds brill! (y) Have issues with apps such as Spotify, Tune-In working....only got Amazon Music which to be honest is fine. Streaming to two Libratone zipp 2's without an issue, and again, thing sound great. I've had one shut down due to overheating...and mean very hot indeed, which is worrying, so am monitoring this very closely. All in all, a superb little device....but will keep an eye out with regards to the overheating matter....
Anyone found good protective cases for this?
Purchased one from earlier deal but they had stopped offering the free headphones by that time. I haven't tried the CT10 out yet but have been looking at online reviews trying to get further insight into the device. Someone on the earlier deal posted a link to the manufacturer's website but I have been unable to find it again on that thread or in my internet history. Here is a link to Activo's U.S. product page us.activostyle and some info on the installation of apps How to use open APP service. It might be of some help.
Yeah saw the forum.....issue has been reported there.....awaiting response

I'm far from knowledgeable about streaming but I discovered something that for me takes this device up a level and reveals what a true bargain it was. Via DLNA I can remotely control the ct10 from my phone including volume and track selection etc from Tidal but the ct10 is the streamer. Firstly turn on DLNA control in settings on the ct10. Then download and install the Astell and Kern Connect app from the Play Store. From the app select 'speaker' as the ct10. Initially I could only see my phone as the selection for speaker (and 'library') but 'refresh' made it appear. Then select Tidal as 'library' and log in and you have an interface for tidal albeit not v pretty. From here you can change the volume of the ct10 and select Tidal tracks, playlists etc. Also the track art appears on the ct10 display. So I have the ct10 plugged into my hifi and control the ct10 via my phone whilst sat on the sofa! I'm not casting from the phone or via Bluetooth, the ct10 is the streaming device such that it continues to stream even if I shut the A & K app down. So on top of everything else its a remotely controllable hires WiFi streamer that can integrate into your hifi! This was what I hoped for, something akin to an echo dot but decent DAC. The interface of the Connect app is a bit clunky. Given that it's, I think, just a DLNA control app does anyone know a better app? Also I don't think the ct10 is compatible with Tidal Connect which would mean you could do all the above but directly from the tidal app itself. Unless I'm wrong? If anyone else tries the above please let us know how you get on. Many thanks
Thanks for this....not much help l'm afraid ;( The instructions are great but not when comes to knowing which apps actually work. Lots of frustrating trial and error. Imagine how much more faith their customers would have in their product and support, if they (Activo/iriver) went the extra mile!!. But great to see us all banding together to help (y) (y) :D
Thanks a million!! :D (y) (y)
I don't use Spotify, can confirm that the old BBC app is blocked I think due to no google services and that's needed for the new BBC sounds app. Radio app I used I mentioned before and briefly tested seemed fine. I set up an account on their website first as was looking at what radio sites available. While there I favourited the radio stations I use thinking to be easier. Found the japanese support site Think worth trying these app versions https://www.iriver.jp/support/faq_974.php Spotify: V184.108.40.2064 (64bit) V220.127.116.117 (32bit)

They crept back to £100. Snooze you loose. Check back in after a week or two with them.
Just got em delivered..hooked em up to my denon hifi system..using best quality speaker cable...gave them several hours to warm up....verdict? Blooming brilliant! Once I'd sorted out bass and treble settings on denon...the speakers sang to me. For 80 quid they are a steal.
I use an SMSL Q5 Pro, toslink out from the TV into this, powering a pair of Kef Q500. Sounds as good as the Cambridge Audio amplifier it replaced. I planned on using it as a stop gap but it's surpassed my expectations. The amp is quite expensive on Amazon, cheaper on eBay when I got mine.
Great deal (y)
Check your local secondhand outlets for old amps. People sell for under £50. Probably as they are bulky by today's standards.

Okay, my dear Switchy. I'm enjoying perusing the deals, especially as the prospect of actually being able to buy big ticket goodies draws ever nearer. :D Ciao for now. xx (highfive)
If someone want's to have a set of this brand with a sub, why not. These speakers will do nicely with as a sattelites of 5.1 system. Like with the Apple, we have different needs and price/quality expectations

I’ve just been looking for the EQ settings and I can’t find
them on my IPhone app, have you got a PC if you have down load the Sonos app
for that and at the top under manage click on settings and you should be in the
equaliser adjustment you can then tick loudness and boost treble and bass.
See if that has the effect your after.
That's odd, I have night mode on and still rarely go over 50 percent
I've tried with both TV signal from the optical input and Spotify connect and both aren't that loud
There could be a volume sub setting linking audio output to TV volume, see if it gets louder with TV volume or headphone volume turned up or down. If you have another source with optical out and it's louder, then it's your TV :D
Well I've done a system reset, installed the new sonos s2 app and checked that I'm receiving dolby 5.1 which I am. It sounds OK, but still no louder. At full volume, its not quiet , but it certainly isn't loud.

Some "men" aren't allowed speakers in the living room (lol)
I always used my own money for this kind of stuff, and tried to be as less invasive as possible, so I cannot imagine why should be any conflict at home.
The rest of the living room is full of steps, weights, barbells... and many other stuff that I don't even know the name (that's her part, she is an aerobics instructor). I work from home since a long time ago, so I try to make my place as comfortable as possible. I think that I bought the most of the stuff from HUK deals (turntables, TV, speakers...) so was quite cheap, and we both enjoy the toys.
