Ridiculous price. Cold.

iBird90

This laptop is way overpriced for a last gen gpu! Yeh it's got performance but you'd need to take another £200+ off to make this a compelling offer over a current gen gpu. You could get a Zephyrus G15 or Duo with Ryzen 5800 and RTX 3070 for this budget!

Zaxxan

That's a lot of money for a laptop even with the discount

jonathancraig31

Cannot recommend LaptopOutlet, had a few devices from them that were "brand new refurbs" and developed faults. Worst CS ive ever seen, constantly told lies and told to wait 14 working days, could literally hear the CS agent counting the days when i called to fob me off. In the end got a refund each time, avoid :(

I'm typing on a Geobook3 now. First disk size. Most (all?) on offer have a measly 32GB disk which is just enough room for W10 and.... nothing else. Budget for adding a 120GB M.2 (SATA only NOT PCIe) for no more than £20. Then you can reinstall W10 to this and ...you've got a usable basic laptop. BUT** check what you're buying has an M.2 slot first. The Geobook3/3X have one. Secondly, there's a high problem rate with these laptops. Typically not working keys, dodgy power switch, dodgy wifi... BUT with warranty that gives you some cover. (had a motherboard replaced on a Geobook 3 - good quick service).

This was my point too, this laptop is ok for kids and definetely even the touchscreen is something I'm not keen on it, my son prefers it that way. I'm not saying this is a great laptop, I'm saying that for what it is, the price is good and can tick boxes for quite a few. I would have got one for my son, but he's got already a tablet with keyboard.

SClub

The GeoBook 3X model has always been great value used and is pretty sturdy. The GeoFlex though very small and light with a brilliant high res screen, suffers all sorts of problems. Touchscreen failure is very common as is keys failing and batteries going wrong. Can't put Chrome OS on them either, booo!

TehJumpingJawa

£80? Sincerely doubt it. Show me a 1080p IPS, quad core with solid state storage & functional battery, that's in giftable condition for anywhere close to that price.

FieldMarshalPaulus

The touch screen on a laptop is a fad! Not very user friendly IMO unless being used for reading, drawing or media consumption. The onscreen keyboard will eat up screen real estate due the 11 inch screen on this one. That’s why even on iPads, to do any real work you still need a keyboard. Each to their own but for the price it’s a bargain with A grade refurbished. The Dual Core SoC, small RAM & HD is inadequate if you need to use Microsoft office software or other processor and ram hungry applications. For kids home work, light browsing and shopping should be ok.

Interesting. No cheque from Xiaomi this month I'm afraid. Jokes aside - in general or maybe just on the Redmi line? What about the POCO flavour? Isn't it better in some respects?

MrSwitch

Very good choice mate, and I know how much you love your OPPO's

harrerdarren

I considered Poco F3 , mi 11, and mi10t pro , but in the end I got the find X3 neo definitely not disappointed it's a very good phone , ok so I wouldn't say the pricing is what people say is mid range territory ..not yet anyway , but then 12 GB ram , and the camera set up + 3 years of updates isn't really mid range either , I'm happy with it plus no 888 issues like with the pro , I have turned the screen down to 60 MHz for now just to save battery life but if I'm watching videos etc I would shove it back up to 90 (y) (y)

harrerdarren

You beat me to it (lol)

Yeah, ok, great advice

Bought this for £739 from huawei in January with student discount and topcashback. If additional student discount can be applied on top of the discount specified here then it’s a good deal. According to multiple reviews where they measured actual brightness this a 420 nits screen

neones

What about the ram and SSD?

Smartguy1

I thought this would have attracted more heat seeing as it has dedicated graphics and 16gb ram. Cheapest 16gb laptop in Curry's that not 17" or 15.6" is £899.

ComingInHot

Consider this similar laptop from the same shop - https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/lenovo-yoga-7-convertible-laptop-core-i5-1135g7-8gb-256gb-ssd-14-fhd-touch-w10-3744620 . Bigger screen, faster CPU.

adam1

The matebook 14 is better in most departments. Battery, cpu, ports etc. However this has edge on graphics card. The screen on the 14 is measured at 400 nits even though it’s 300 specified.

Or maybe the right time, as it seems they are issuing refunds. This was clearly a glitch, even a low specs Zenbook is at least £450.

Usman_Dar

How reliable is this company? Also, would battery life be a concern on this?

weddingpunchup

Just gone to order this and it’s down to £589 now (£689 list price and minus £100 code still works)

realparadyne

I have one of these, the screen and all metal build are fantastic, great keyboard (spill resistant too), great sound, plenty of ports, decent battery life, comes with an adapter to give you more ports, large precision trackpad, touchscreen, 3:2 aspect, High DPI. Bottom cover is removable, RAM is soldered but SSD is replaceable. Battery is replaceable. It has almost everything and this is a great price. Web cam is the only downside. Being hidden in a pop up key ensures privacy, but it's not the best angle. It's usable though.

Hi. Just came today. Compared to my old yoga tab 2 it's obviously quicker but the screen seems to be tft or crappy ips. much better angle on my old yoga tab2 ... Feel like dealing with ATM screen. Does anyone else got this feeling? Will compare with my friend same tablet but pretty sure will return...

ASGHAIZ

I bought this recently on the whim. (As you do!!). I didn't need it but for the spec thought it was ok. Not many tablets at this price range with 4gb/64gb. I bought mine from eBay via laptops direct outlet. Was £209. With eBay promotion code paid £167.00. I can't see myself using this very often but rather have and not need it then vice versa. Plus... Quite slim, full hd, great sound Atmos. Cons... Screen isn't very bright, only 1 USBC connection. Upgrades to android 10. Good for YouTube and all4 on demand. And general use. Not tried for games as I don't really play any graphic intensive games. There is probably better out there or more to come but that's always the case with tech. This is good value for money today. One feature i found useful is when you add micro SD you have the option to use this as removable media or add to storage. So add 64gb micro SD to bump storage to 128gb!! Not sure if this is with all tablets. Had I known could have bought a 16gb or 32gb tablet £50 cheaper. I am not a techy or super user hope someone find this useful.

Is this OK for Netflix use ? On the website someone had put it can't handle playing Netflix in HD. Also will this play roblox ? I'm thinking of buying my little girl this tablet for her 8th birthday and roblox is what all the cool kids play allegedly lol.

This over the new Samsung galaxy book Pro? Torn ....

mazzyhope

Not if you want to work with 4k comfortably but will be fine for 1080p. The screen is excellent.

mazzyhope

It has a partition separating the drive into two. One for the system and one for data. A lot of people find the system drive to be too small.

mazzyhope

The only Matebook X Pro that has the old logo is the 2018 model (which was the first one released). The 2019 just has the Huawei name like the newer models.

BryanCourtZbk

512gb but whats with the reviews saying lack of hard drive space and ‘delete the d-drive then reassign the space either all to the C-drive or at least double the pre-installed size of only 80gb which is far too small’ ???

Ice ice cold, wayyy overpriced for the spec

TechnoDonkey

Don’t know that I’d even pay that to be honest. Terrible fingerprint scanner, rubbish camera (for auto snaps at least) and crammed full of stupid games and other bloatware. It’s even temperamental with some USB C chargers. Battery life was ok though.

Murgatroyd99

They are listing the series II for £680 so unlikely. This needs to be £100 less to make it hot in my opinion

TechnoDonkey

Sold one of these to MusicMagpie for £200 nearly a year ago. Is this being mistaken for the ii series?
