Well, it goes to prove how much value-for-money and design appeal are in the eye of the beholder. Had a look at your example of what you are suggesting is good and still stick to my comments. The "temperature" of this deal seems to support the majority view.
A lot of ignorant nonsense written here. Lombok do have some excellent items and some are offered in this sale along with some unattractive items! As for Balinese craftsmen, these goods are mass produced for the western market and bear only a passing resemblance to the wonderful things on sale in Bali - I've been there twice and loved their furniture - but it doesn't mean the goods are not any good. I think they're very well priced, especially many of the tables and the chair http://www.lombok.co.uk/cid/UNNZ19CEJ3E49ZBHN9W8U5GITKAO0MUP/49-CH-BILA-P49CHBILA/.
:D :D a very good point and my guess, like yours, is mostly no they would not 8) However, I would like to suggest that even such a stereotype would know whether her bottom was comfortable when parked on a chair from these people - or perhaps I'm over-estimating that too? ;)
Yeah, but does the average punter (i.e Chelsea tractor driving 'kept' wife, describing herself as an 'interior designer') have a clue what or where Lombok is?
Had never heard of the company but, as a fan of design from that part of the world, I wondered what on earth had prompted the negative comments and score - and now I know! Most Balinese craftsmen would be shocked to think that someone was associating their good name with items that looked like this. Have to say, that I'm disappointed with what Lombok have to offer and would not buy, even if it were a dozen for the price they are asking. A resounding COLD from me because, although these offerings may be cheap compared to their normal selling price, they are not value for money and I don't think a hot or cold vote should only reflect the price asked.

Lombok 40% off selected furniture 70% off items £4.95 delivery
A '5 day spectacular' that ends tomorrow, discounts on selected furniture and items. £4.95 delivery on items, though you may find something that makes it worth it.
Looking through the site, I'm afraid to say there is nothing there that appears to be a bargain. The furniture appears to be grossly overpriced in the first instance. Comparable furniture can be bought for a fraction of the reduced price. Unfortunately cold from me.
