I don't care either way, I have Quartz and mechanicals.....people question Quartz yet Omega Seamaster 300 Bond's for instance are now making £2K+ and a few years ago with the advent of Quartz, autos were completely out of vogue, I could wax lyrical about mechanicals and movements; I have watches that have decent movements in then like the 7750, some nice 1960's Longines Flagship etc and they are not an investment watch as per Rolex, Patek, Omega Moon etc. Mechanicals are all good until service time or the Chrono plays up then they are a complete ball ache and cost £££££s to repair/service. One or two watches owned no probs but 10s of watches creates an annoying maintenance schedule and hefty financial hit especially if in house service centres are used.....think the price for my Sub is now circa £700-800! And an Omega Speedy Moon around £700!
Love the colour
Having owned and flipped hundreds of watches. My own experience is that a decent auto movement is a massive investment, not just the initial outlay but the servicing and repair which will inevitably be needed to keep the watch running decent, keeping decent time and to retain the overall value of the watch. I’ve owned many Valjoux 7750 watches and currently a 7751 day date month moon phase and the price of servicing and full strip down is £400+ even at a one man band watchmaker because of the complex nature of the movement and although the Valjoux is a wonderful movement it’s common and there are parts available and one man bands can service them. I think most people on here when they talk about autos they refer to Chinese and Japanese cheap movements that are throw away almost. Quartz has many benefits and yes, maybe the romance of a ticking mechanical movement may be missing but some of these Quartz movements should be marvelled at. Each to their own... I like both and today I’m wearing a cheap as chips Casio Duro that’s Quartz.
3k RRP is absolutely laughable 🙈 in my opinion, this is what is Bremont’s should cost at the very most. I’ve spent time with various different Bremont models and they are just not worth the asking price.
But the movement in this watch is an dressed-up ETA 2892 and the backstory is made-up...
Fair enough. If heritage means years and years of manufacture, then Bremont doesn't tick that box. But for innovation, Swiss movements transitioning to English in-house and real quality timepieces with a back-story owned by an independent, then it's a pretty good option. But just my opinion.
When I buy a luxury watch I want heritage. I’m out
“unknown brand” Not sure if serious. (confused) But if you are I think it is safe to say watches are not your specialised category.
Correction: "Global microbrand"

I wouldn't put them in the "unknown" category. They are a premium UK watch brand, and have quite a few small stores in the south east. Quick Google will find quite a few reviews of their watches. Personally I like the design a lot of their products, but not this one. Decent discount though, so heat added. Cheers OP!
Expensive for a first offering from an unknown brand

I’ve also been following this and contacted them last Thursday, they confirmed they no longer stock this model as the new Seamaster replaced it. The only way they’d sell this model now would be pre-owned so you’re right for sure.
Went for this one - they actually sent the 42mm instead which had the deployant clasp ( no ‘m’ ;) ) but it just seemed too small. Swapped it for the right one at the Boutique and they offered me a free rubber strap with the deployant clasp at £270. I’d have swapped the strap on the Omega for a blue rubber one anyway. Tbh, this hasn’t been off since I got it, my other watches haven’t seen the light of day. https://www.mappinandwebb.com/Breitling-Superocean-Automatic-44-A17367D81C1S1/p/17531624
Did you go for a super ocean heritage? I love the blue one but just way too big for me. Rubber strap would do me fine too just way too big for my wrist like most of these divers.
I ordered this about 6/7 weeks ago. All went through ok. Rang them up next day and they confirmed it was in stock and would be dispatched that day. Next day they rang to say it wasn’t in stock. 😡 Although they did offer to honour the £900 discount ( was reduced from £3,500 to £2,600) and knocked it off a Breitling instead. I’ve been following M&W to see if it came on again and it appears quite regularly but always shows out of stock. I’d be surprised if this didn’t say that and even more surprised if anyone actually gets one at this price.
Ffs missed out
