You pay dearly only if you are careless. In fact, without a fee-free card the EXTRA amount you pay is smaller than with a fee-free card.
Yes, but unless you have a fee-free card you will still pay dearly for it.
No deal here. Happy to keep letting the monza etc take that revenue.
Absolutely different incomparable things. There are two types of charges on foreign currency transactions 1. Your card is charged in local currency. Mastercard/Visa rate is used for conversion, extra charge added by your bank 2. Merchants offer you to pay in £ instead of local currency and use their own, bad for you, rate for conversion (DCC) Mastercard/Visa rate is good, close to the interbank one. Halifax doesn't add (1) for Clarity transactions. You can and always was able to refuse to pay in £, thus avoiding (2). Just check what amount and in what currency your are asked to authorise.

Thanks, worked for me, as said above can now redeem 950 points for 10 quid voucher, there's a few items on the site for a fiver as it costs 3.50 postage. My spend was 5.50 plus postage.
It’s been updated now, can redeem for £10 John Lewis e-gift card, just done it
I signed up for this offer with a prepaid Mastercard using the code MSE10 to get the 1000 points. The ICE representative on the MSE forums has said that due to unprecedented demand (was in the MSE email) they had ran out of vouchers (something about them expiring) but more would be on the site today. Sure enough the minimum amount of points you can exchange has increased from 50 points = £1 to 450 = £5....Still not at the 950 points for £10 but getting there. Seemingly the John Lewis vouchers are working fine and that it's just the M&S vouchers they are having trouble with. I read that you make your purchase as normal with your Mastercard and you will then receive an email with a link that will refund the £10 to your "credit card" (Mastercard). How this works for prepaid cards or other Mastercards would be something to watch.
Finally got a code. I know it says it's an online code, but anyone know if you could spend this in-store?
Yep. And when you try and spend the points there are a pile of ridiculous limitations on the number of points you can spend and how often (wait three months wtf?!)

Samsung Pay - £6 Costa Voucher When you upload Selected Mastercards£6
sorry am i am bit confused set up card ect how do i get the code say i have registered for it but no code
Nah apparently the UK version of Samsung Pay doesn't have the magnetic strip bit enabled, which is literally the only benefit over Google Pay
Last time I checked it's a £30 limit if the phone is locked and unlimited if unlocked with Google and Apple pay.
I thought HSBC only did visas
I don't get these, takes 3 seconds to get my phone out and flash it, takes 3 second's to get my Bank card and flash it, but I don't have to ,realy on phone Being on or card details on phone. hence when i went to the shop, the guy went to pay with his iPhone but his phone was offf, so he had to wait for it too turn on

As well as the promo code 'inews10' (1000 points worth at least £10) there's winter2018 which gives you 500 points (worth at least £5). I've also found ''MyTW10' (which should give you another 1000 points worth at least £10). I keep saying at least because with some retailers your first so many points are worth more 1p each!
This isn't actually run by Mastercard, but that famous company called ' Ice '. Hmmm.
iNEWS10 + the mc200 above = 1200 free points (£12??)
Use iNEWS10 for £10 worth of free points. https://www.myice.com/inews/

MasterCard London New Year Sale
Presale for MasterCard holders from 24/11 for tickets from 1/1 to 9/2.
It's only twice per period, technically excludes Starbucks cards top-ups and tracking is especially flaky at franchised stores. Franchised stores also don't always automatically apply 'Gold' Starbucks freebies either.
Or you could buy a less expensive coffee. forgo the cashback but still end up quids in
it should be on every purchase of up to £5. So if you spent a fiver in Starbucks each day, you TCB should be £1.25 per day, resulting in £5.25 TCB each week.
You may not be able to do that. Cash back is only on purchases up to £5
Is this £1.25 cash back max? Can it be used twice therefore £2.50 in total? T&Cs aren't very clear

You can also use tastecard or other voucher codes as it's not a promotion it's a method of payment.
This needs massive heat, 8 of us going to Wagamama tomorrow getting £120 off the bill and I get £35 into my wallet as I've referred the other 7 no brainer
worked great for us last night! can't wait to use it again.
Once you're there, you check in to the restaurant in the app and you give the waitress the table number, generated by app. Others sign in to the table using the same number. The order will appear on all phones and each of you can claim the item and pay for it from your balance and top-up with your debit card if needed. As far as I can tell there can be 10 of you and it will work the same.
Yup, a refers b, who refers c etc so you all have £15 credit. Check you each have the credit in the rewards tab before you go. When in the restaurant, all search for the restaurant you're in. One of you clicks "start a table" and you get a 4 digit code. You give this to your server. The rest of the table then click "join a table" & use the 4 digit code. At the end of the meal, each person clicks the items they want to pay for. It is quite a clunky app, but worth it for £15 each! If you're using at wagamama, check if they're running 10% off for QKR users-our branch was last night. This discount needs to be applied by the server before you pay on the app.

Show the app with your MasterCard on it. Don't tap, they can use their code (MasterCard) which makes your coffee free.
With regards to Cafe Nero do you have to show android pay with mastercard or tap payment?
my understanding is that they charge you but Mastercard then put a refund on your card. I was going to try this yesterday but the Mastercard i had with me didn't support android pat. Blooming Yorkshire bsnk
Is it only android pay Mastercards then? That sucks if so, so few banks accept it, and even fewer banks seem to use Mastercard... How does it work if you claim it? Do you just hope it doesn't charge you?
Havn't got a mastercard, and i am not sure if the one i get from Revoult will work
