Seconded although I just watched it on the screening, I thought the story was fantastic and the production was spot on too

mdrewry

I thought Small Island was incredible when I saw it last year, definitely in my top 3 of all time theatre experiences

David_e

Think short answer is no. For what it’s worth, my sister saw it and said it was shocking!!

AppletonITSolutions

We saw Amadeus a while back in the theatre, would highly recommend, we will be rewatching it!

We we there too and agree, it was fabulous. Presence.

Not a fan of Mark Gatiss's writing or acting but this is a great Alan Bennet play. The film version is doing the rounds on Film 4 at the moment I think. Nice to see all the free theatre, ballet, and opera stuff coming through.

LJM321

Mark Gatiss is one of my favourite actors

Saw this on stage. A fantastic production. (y)

You can usually open the YouTube app on your phone, play a video, and if your TV is connected to the same network, click the little "casting" icon on the top right corner and it will suggest some devices on your network - which hopefully includes your TV - and it will play on that! I find it so much easier to navigate to content on the phone than trying to use the Fire stick remote or the TV's (although my Fire stick you can just talk into and it plays it - which still childishly amuses me!).

Sinclair was of coursewell known for producing the C5, but I thought it was a pretty terrible street car myself

skeeter909

National Theatre is an absolute National Treasure (not the NIc Cage one). They are going thru some tough times - despite being at the forefront of dramatic arts and stage craft - and may not make it out the other end of this c19 apocalypse (this is according to the Director of the NT). Either way, stage shows and how it works out will be changed as many venues will simply not be able to reopen or reschedule shows or the myriad logistics around things that were in progress but just cant now be done. The economic and craftmanships cost is huge. Suggest we support with donations - or lobby BoJo and his cronies to do the right thing.

I saw this at the cinema, live from the theatre, and it was great. A very interesting take on a classic bit of Shakespeare. Never seen it live and would love to given the performances from both leads who are excellent. Well worth a watch for free if you can watch on a big telly.

The quality. Was atrocious. But then again, all video streams are lowered at this time. Shame it wasn't surround sound too. Really enjoyed this op. Didn't expect to. Was amazing. Didn't expect nudity either! Luckily my kids are a little older.

watched the benedict as the creature and he was superb as was jonny as frankenstein. cannot wait to see the other way round

davidpaul_liverpool

Just watched this and it was a really powerful riveting performance.... really emotionally moving

glasgowgirl

Just got my reminder about this! :D

TheShape

No, I think that non-theatre lovers could really enjoy this. Frankenstein is a great story and it's a great production. Maybe having a director known for his movies helps? I've intended to watch a number of the National Theatre productions and couldn't watch more than 15 minutes of any of the productions (didn't watch Jane Eyre). Theatre and Shakespeare isn't for me. Perhaps because it requires such a differnet approach to movies.

Excellent show, well made, watched it on YouTube last night - what an immersive experience! Great acting - I was impressed by James Corden’s performance. Highly recommended.
