Hmmm. Not sure why you have a difference. There will always be a slight difference between the exchange rate you used for your calculations and the actual rate used by your bank for your transaction. But you'd expect this to be far less than £20 on £48. Maybe the discount doesn't work in this country? I bought mine from Indonesia. Paid £92 to start the season. You got a very good price I recon!
Thanks for the heads up. I used the VPN and went for Algeria. With the 25% discount applied it should have cost around £48. Howeverrr looking at my bank balance after it seems to have charged me £67. Is this down to some weird currency conversion thing? I used a debit card. Have I done something wrong? I'm new to all this, what's your experience with paying for LP in a different currency? Obviously I'm happy to be buying for much less than usual but still, £20!
As a separate bit of advice, League Pass can be purchased much cheaper by using the Hola add-in for Chrome browser to spoof route your internet connection through another country before purchasing your membership. You can then use a UK credit card to make the purchase in another currency. Once purchased, the account can be accessed from any device directly without using the add-in. Indonesia seems to be the cheapest and just over half of the UK price.
To be honest I think the nba releases 'discounts' periodically throughout the year which actually just bring the league pass down to the value left in the season. By my calculations the regular season is already around 38% complete, the league pass also includes the playoffs as well so it probably is around 25% through overall. So really you're paying for what's left because why should you pay the same amount as the start of the season when it's over a 1/3 in. But anyway, it could be useful to those that didn't buy at the start of the season - so heat.
