We can rely on wind and solar alone, however - as has just been commented, battery storage is the future combined with solar and wind. Store up the power and use when it’s needed. As long as you cater with enough storage for your needs there’s no reason to ever go short - and yes I know this is expensive, but what ‘green’ groups are saying is correct if you can remove cost from the equation. There’s more than enough wind and solar to provide for our needs if we produce the infrastructure to store that energy.
Go faster seems to be almost the old economy 7 except that within a range you can pick your cheap rate start time.
It's one of their trials - you can email and ask to be invited. Basically you can still get the 5p but you can choose when it applies starting 8pm to midnight for 4 or 5 hours, and you pay a fixed fee for rest of the day. I'm not explaining it well lol but a quick Google will give you a better explanation!
No I’ve not seen this. In what ways is is better? I’ll have to have a look as I’m not sure that was an option it gave me - maybe it’s only available in certain areas.
Unless they have batteries and or energy intense use (I have batteries + mining rigs) and used 100% my production last year... I'm all for agile. Its just followed wholesale prices off the cliff since December and yes we've had a couple of days with 5p for a few hours in early morning but generally it's been ridiculously expensive rest of the day. My batteries offset this spike as I make them charge during cheap periods and contribute when prices are high, combined with my solar. So for my case not worth moving to go or go faster.
