Looking for a laptop with at least i7 7700u an ssd and graphics card like a radeon 530 4gb or 4gb geforce 940MX. For about £400-450. I have student discount aswell.
When clicking the Sale link it applies a filter to show: Alienware 15 - R3| Alienware 17 - R4| Inspiron 15 - 7577. It appears only these refurbished laptop are part of the sale.

You can't combine discounts, for anyone not aware of that.

Anyone had any experience with the refurbed ones from Dell?

Most are customer returns and as new. Scratch and dent normally have a mark so tiny, that’ll you’ll struggle to find it.

Decent prices against new normally, but significant discounts when these vouchers pop up.

Warranty is as you were buying new.

I bought my outlet Inspiron 5000 gaming laptop (4k screen, i7, 16gb, 512gb sad, gtx 1050ti), in September for uni and you wouldn't even know it was refurbished. No scratches, everything boxed as new, works a charm no issues.
Damn, no XPS 15

Why would you buy a gaming laptop for University? Are you doing a degree in games?

I wanted a quad core; I'll be running virtual machines, IDEs, loads of websites open, etc, the duel cores are okay but I didn't want any slow down.

I wanted 16gb ram because the above can soak up a lot of memory, especially as I'll be running MacOS in a VM.

Once you factor in the above, there's not much price difference between a basic quad core high mem machine and one with a graphics card. Also, I got a fantastic price - 816, instead of 1350+, was a no brainer for me.

Could be they share a pc at home with the parents and can't take it with them. Perhaps they have a really old machine and want to chill with games while at uni. Or even they are doing a render heavy degree. They could just be taking advantage of their loans and living a little, better than spending it on drinking/drugs like many anyway

To clarify, I'm a mature student (in the loosest sense of the word lol).

I bought 5 over the past 7/8 years for various people and all looked brand new with full warranty.
I'm still using an Inspiron 17r 7720 I bought over 4 years ago and still going strong.
I bought an XPS15 with 3rd Gen i7 around 5 years ago from Dell Outlet. It's lasted really well but I'm about due an upgrade.

I'm very tempted to pick up one of these.

Darnit no Alienware 13. I reckon apart from weight that could be the best laptop around since it's the only cheap yet powerful option with an OLED display.

Incredible prices for what are essentially new laptops with a warranty to boot!

I bought a different model yesterday with a 15% student discount, but this is even better!
