Depends on the store. My local store was rubbish but after the ownership changed, the quality has significantly improved.

Much better than the local Domino rubbish round here and they can actually deliver a pizza which is something the Domino mob haven’t been able to do consistently or quickly in the 2 1/2 years I’ve lived here

Papa Johns highly recommended shame they won’t allow you to choose any dip apart from that vile butter.

Dominos vs Papa Johns

Which make better pizzas?

Why?

Same here! New management the food is tasty and always fresh and hot unlike dominos chewy since the new improved recipe don’t like the new sauce as well.

Yeah the free stuff you don't have to have = undermines this deal.
Come on.
50% off £15 too. Just scroll down the offers menu on the Papa’s web site

Dominos 100%, but this is based only on the 2 pizzas I had when Papa John's had the 60% offer on, I normally order dominos. You get more toppings at dominos, their pepperoni pizza is like 3 layers of all over pepperoni and cheese, Papa John's was like 1-2 pieces a slice. dominos Italian base is thinner and crispier, their original base is fluffier. Dominos use more sauce which is thicker with more herbs. I'd say there's not much difference in the quality of ingredients but hot damn the garlic sauce you get from Papa John's is amazing, dominos sauces are rubbish.

The sauce is like garlic flavoured creamy milk. Looks, smells and tastes hideous. If you enjoy garlic then this stuff may put you off it for a while.

IMHO Pizza wise Papa Johns hands down. Dough is lighter, sauce tastes vaguely of tomato (it is however suspiciously over-sweet), and the cheese does its job unremarkably . Overall their pizza keeps together better. They offer their pizza sauce as a dipping option with sides (they are super skimpy with the amount though), which is infinitely better and healthier than any of the alternatives from either.

Domino's has a wider variety of toppings, is less strict on customization options, and always a better delivery service (my experience is from 5 different locations around london), and sides/desserts.

I think you'll find people on both sides here!

Personally I think the quality is about the same, but can depend on individual shop a bit. I prefer dominos myself, mostly because of the way the sauce is spiced. I've not been able to replicate it at home. However the last one I ordered they went easy on the sauce and it resulted in an underwhelming pizza.

For what is essentially fancy cheese on toast with ketchup, pizzerias need to maintain a high standard to justify the high prices.

For pizzas it’s Papas, for the garlic sauce it’s domino’s. Although I have been having black garlic sauce from Tesco with my homemade pizzas lately and that’s fantastic.

Anyone know where you can get pizza shop type garlic sauce off the shelf?
People arguing about papa johns vs dominos pizza... LOL
How are these deals?

Mine always had bogof and same with dominos either through leaflet or online offers.

Rarely they never have either bogof, spend x and 50% off or two large etc for £20.
Thanks for posting. We have added your thread to the Highlights pages
Not as good as the 60% off deal that they had a couple of weeks ago.

I dunno but all in my household agree that The Works is the fav at the moment with added cheese crust and chargrilled chicken extra topping. We prefer tomato base to barbecue bases so with the 50% off it still keeps it above the free del £10 threshold unlike the 50% off £15 offer. My nearest is nearly 2 miles away and the car is out of action so free delivery all the way for me!

If you mean garlic and herb sauce (as Domino's give with the pizza) then most shops do their own version and also the large Crucial bottles is the same crucialsauce.co.uk/pro…rb/

No. It is the worst ever.
Actually @Lonners I genuinely apologise if any offence was caused, it was meant as a light hearted throwaway comment, but I do appreciate in the current situation how it could be taken as insensitive.

Shall we draw a line under papagate now ?

Domino's makes you feel disgusting and ill after eating and the next morning you'll pay for it.

Papa John's actually use ingredients that were cooked in 2020 not frozen in space and time in an artificial box of filth for the past 2 years like Domino's fake rubbish.

The dough also tastes like dough from Papa John's, infact everything other than the sausage tastes real, which makes sense as every sausage from a supermarket (barring maybe Heck) tastes nothing like meat.

They also do far nicer dips than Domino's, the sides are way better too (chicken wings are actually wings, instead of sticks with skin from Domino's), and the desserts are nicer whilst being cheaper in larger portions.
apparently one is not allowed to post a nebulously defined "politics" soooo

maybe have a look into the things papa johns funds and see if you want to pay for that
