Excellent... thanks!! Also... just for info... I took a chance and placed an order on 16-Dec, which it looks like is now being delivered on 20-Dec (using their standard delivery)... in plenty of time for the big man!!🎅🏼🎁
Yes what zararh said. An easy way to remember is that you only pay VAT once. If an EU retailer charges VAT it means they SHOULD* be registered for U.K. VAT, they collect it and pass it onto the U.K. government on your behalf. If they don’t charge VAT then it’s likely the shipping company will send you a bill before delivery, with their handling fee on top (usually around £8-£12). On the odd occasion it might actually slip through and you pay no VAT. *SHOULD. This is the correct way to run a business, and I would expect large retailers to adhere to it, but potentially some businesses haven’t changed their systems yet. If in doubt just ask if they are VAT registered in the U.K.
Unless they have paid the tax in Germany then you will have no problems
The beetle one got taken down because you need to pay postage which takes it above a price on another website. So I just chose this instead. Both great prices!

Thanks, he’s been delivered today. Totally out the blue and still says not dispatched, but he’s super cool :)
Fingers crossed they ship it soon, he's worth the wait. I ordered something else from them last week and it took a while to ship but from point of shipping to delivery it was around 2 days so Thursday may be possible.
That's rubbish. They delivered fairly promptly to me so try not to judge them too harshly. Although a little surprising a company as big as Playmobil don't have a UK distributor.
Just called them and apparently there’s been a problem with the euro tunnel and it’s due to be delivered Thursday? Although still no dispatch email and when I go on my account it says “awaiting dispatch” :(
Unfortunately we don't do elf on the shelf anymore, my boys are too old now. Sounds like your Santa will have a fun month and that's a great idea to pair them up
