Yes, totally agree on the risk front but there are plenty of second hand bikes available that have barely every been ridden. If you’re lucky enough to find one of them or buy a previous season model direct from the manufacturers shop.
Well Giant are great and manufacturer their own frames to very high standards but Ribble frames like Planet X are sourced from some pretty decent CF factories in the far east like many of the major US and EU brands who often charge a lot more. However there is still the issue if buying secondhand you don't know the history of the frame and forks and most people don't bother to scan CF frames and forks they purchase so its much more of a gamble even with Giant.
Decent although with a bit of effort and luck you could find a great bike second hand for that money. I picked up a Giant TCR with Ultegra for not much more than that.
I have this bike but with the 105 Group set. Absolutely love it (y)
plus delivery which is a lot

Ribble Cycles R782 Ultegra Di2 £1599£1,599
Can’t beat the R872 for value for money! They’ve run a similar deal in the past but with 105, this year they’ve just dropped a deal on the new models Disc with Tiagra at £899 (BARG… Read more
One hell of a deal! Had the Endurance SL for a while now which I love but test rode the R872 at their Preston showroom and was just as sweet a ride. You can Custom Colour them too if the colours not for you! Customer Service team have always been super helpful too!
I've had a carbon ribble bike for the past 3 years, no complaints with the frame whatso ever so far.
States carbon, presumably the frame, but doesn't state overall weight...
This is a better buy: https://www.cyclerepublic.com/boardman-slr-9-4-ultegra-di2-men-s-road-bike-2019.html yeah no discs (good, lol) but just better all round apart from that
Been this price for a while - I got one of these a few months back from Pauls as a more relaxed ride when a shoulder injury made my TT bike and Madone just too uncomfortable. Its done a couple of thousand KM over the summer and been OK. Its not a high end bike and that price is about the money for it. Very much endurance focussed and no lightweight though. Its very similar to the R872 which I tried before I bought it. They go second hand for peanuts; although normally in the lower spec. Im going to hang onto it as my winter trainer as cube do quite neat mudguards for it. Check cube sizes as they come up small. I'm normally a 58 elsewhere but needed a 60. Pauls service was fine.
Dunno but good deal!
Anyone know why Paul's cycles are banned? I did try to post this as a deal: Cube Attain GTC Race Disc Road Bike 2018 Grey/Green is £1199 with Carbon Frame, Ultegra and Hydro Disc brakes. Available in 56 and 58 sizes so anyone from 5ft 6in to 6 ft should be ok based on the size guide.

CSN Carbon SE Seatpillar £9.99 + £2.99 p&p Ribble Cycles£12.98

In isolation, probably not. But carbon post, bars, lighter tyres combined, it all helps. Vibration not complete nonsense, if the post has been designed well carbon posts can flex a bit more and transfer vibrations at a frequency that takes the sting out a bit. Having said that, having a 27.2 or thinner seatpost would help even more!
I love a bit of carbon, but 2 things how much weight are we taking about in real terms, ie if I take a pee that probably would be more. The vibration surely that's nonsense? Not havign a go and the deal is good, just curious.
I think it probably just means that in the rear of the post it's marked in cm increments to assist setting your seat height and that there is a minimum insertion mark so you don't run it too high. If you're new to carbon posts it's wise to have some fibergrip or carbon paste to stop it either sticking or slipping. Normal grease can cause them to swell up and wedge in place.
Is this a seat for a caterpillar
Insert clamp guide? I'm curious to how that works, because I wonder if my steel frame and clamp would chew through this. 31.6mm and 40cm of anyone is curious.

What does the popularity of a product got to do with the price? Surely the cheaper a product is the more popular it would be. Or are you saying that cycling company's inflate their prices when they become popular?
Lol looks like he jacket the gilder ppl wear in Belfast
They were meant to put RRP of £8.99 but accidentally fat fingered the number 7 at the same time (lol)
This was never £78.99 for a brand that isn't popular.

It’s only a half price upgrade on a new bike and a limited range of two bikes. So not really a half price group set at all. You can buy all the group set cheaper than Ribble’s full price so maybe a 30-35% saving
got mine yesterday all seems good far to much plastic used on the packaging, each item packed in plastic and then a outer bag over them so please sort that out would rather have a tiny mark on the tool
Total is £ 33.98 not £32.98. (£29.99 + £3.99 P&P) Due to the combined weight of the items only the £3.99 Tracked delivery option is available when you add it to the cart for checkout.
Not many reviews for the set but there are also positive reviews for the individual tools. Going to risk it as I need a chainwhip and that has good reviews too.
It's a 9 speed chain on the whip. It's a bit wide for an 11 speed cassette. It will work but be careful.
I actually think if you ignore the tools you already have or won't use, you could get this cheaper by buying lifeline tools. Be careful with the chainwhip. It's not an 11 speed chain. You will be able to get it to work (I have loads of time), just be careful
