Would agree winter tyres are a better option for coping with winter in general, the socks are obviously cheaper and are for use in snow only but give peace of mind for when we have that lovely white stuff.
I have a set of Nokian winter tyres on a set of spare alloys and they are excellent. Being a softer compound they grip in colder weather better than normal tyres, and the different tread grips in snow and ice. There might be times the snow socks work better but they aren't designed for much mileage.
We use them on normal tyres, was advised to have socks or winter tyres no need to have both. Socks were the cheaper option!
Would they make any difference on winter tyres or all season like the Michelin crossclimate+? Thank you :)
I recommend Autosocks. Bought a set five years ago and the snow has stopped sticking. Still in the plastic bag 😏
