So you're voting on the value on Lego, not the deal?
Bizarre.

Have some heat from me. Good spot.

Hmmmmm
Or you could spend 60 pounds and get 30 pounds off on lego(anything) at very co uk?

A measly 40 pounds off of 200 is nothing, most big sets are 160 so youll have to buy extra unwanted lego just to reach 200.

Basically make a new account with the credit plan.

At checkout enter code and pay using the buy now pay later option.

Once thats done you have a time limit before they add interest on how much you owe them, but obviously you would pay it afterwards before the deadline.

Easy £30 off a minimum £60 of lego (3.99 postage not included in the minimum spend)
Only seems to work once per email address

Not true.

sets from the 90s we’re often as expensive for fewer pieces.

sets have gotten bigger though, so the price has to increase accordingly with size.

It’sa good value product compared to most toys.

I dont think they'd appreciate a credit check on their record just so I can save a few quid on lego....but each to their own.
It’s clearly a deal and a good one at that. If you are a collector of Lego you’d know Amazon / Very often send out their deliveries in the retail box shoved in a bag. Box gets damaged or crushed. If you were going to buy from JL eg you have vouchers or a gift card these codes represent a decent saving for a simple transaction not involving signing up for credit accounts.

What a ludicrous comment. It’s a 20% discount on lego in the run up to Christmas. Whether or not you personally find lego good value for money is irrelevant, not saying you have to vote it hot but to vote it cold is pathe

LEGO has always been an expensive toy but licensed themes such as Star Wars add a premium to the price. It's rare that I pay full price for any of the sets given the amount of deals that come around.
The Mustang is £105 with this deal, cheapest I've seen it considering it never goes on sale.

Got the Porsche RSR and the Car Transporter for £115, hot from me thanks!

How?
Starbuck2620/10/2019 08:17

Staff discount

Yep £205 In basket, 25% staff discount, then minus the £40. Bit of a result.

Was going to go for a Hidden Side haul but a lot of it is OOS. Some other bits tempting though!
Nope, you’re actually wrong.

Also, if you grew up with it as a child, it’s doubtful you did the buying to be able to judge price / value at the time

i think a reality check on how expensive other toys are is needed, some are poorly imagined and badly designed, yet are very expensive. Anyone who has had to buy a basic Paw Patrol set for £14 will know what I mean (now those are over priced...)

lego is over priced it was cheaper back in the day but if you feeling salty because i say this tell your lego wife or lover i am sorry they are not cheap

You’ve just been proven wrong though, so I think the saltiness is your own.

It’s never been cheap and relatively hasn’t gotten
more expensive. Repeating something ignorant doesn’t change that, nor does adding emojis.

if it’s because you can’t afford it, there’s no shame in that, but again that doesn’t make an incorrect comment correct

Hes likely comparing a £200 16+ set to a lego juniors police station he had for christmas in 1995....
hey did not see any proof at all apart from some rubbish chart that looks like a 2 year old did it
Trying to say sets were cheaper back in the day doesn't hold up that well to be honest; on the surface it may seem that way but wages and earnings were far less as well. Is Lego expensive? Yes of course, but for the most part, there's good reasons and most of them are justified. Licensing, research, planning, development, testing and prototyping; for example, the Creator Expert version of the blue Ford Mustang started off a lot smaller and went through seven versions before settling for the final design, while getting bigger each time. And key people from Ford that they partnered with had to be happy with the proposed prototypes as well as the final design, otherwise the project for the set gets scrapped. The same thing applied for the big Lego Technic Porsche 911 GT3 RS which had a period of three years between starting planning and releasing.

ok i will admit that sets have improved vastly but lego struggled for a time and only reason they are still around is for die hard fans as to development that is down to the fans making the kits and lego selling them i will agree lego is great fun but prices are stupid high its silly u can buy a tablet or phone for ur kids for the price of lego and the kids suffer for it they get given tablets as a babysiter and they dont learn to be creative lego is great tool and as to the licenses they are some of the worst sets the star wars range sucks apart from the big build of death star
To address a couple of points:

Is Lego expensive? Well, if you buy at RRP then yes, the prices are expensive, but the sheer quantity of deals on this site go to show that it's not difficult to buy Lego at considerably less than RRP. There's also a great article here explaining the reasons why Lego costs what it does: strategiesforparents.com/rea…os/

Secondly, why do Lego set their prices so high? Well, they are a business, they know their target market, and they set their prices at what they think is an optimum level. If the prices were too high, they wouldn't get many sales and would suffer - similarly if they were too low, they wouldn't make much profit and would suffer. The fact that they are the biggest toy company in the world would suggest that, from a business perspective, their prices are just right.

A consumer complaining that they are too expensive is just saying they can't afford them - we could all walk around complaining that Ferrari's are too expensive but instead, we just accept that they are out of our budget - why can't we accept the same for Lego?
KCooperman20/10/2019 18:45

I think he went downstairs to ask his parents what they paid for the sets, I’m guessing he still lives at home, so it’s easy for him to pop downstairs and ask.Either that or he got sent to his room, as he went quiet for a bit.

he’s active again though, looks like he’s finished playing video games online or perhaps got called down for his supper.

so M.P. - what did they say?

Exactly.

though that guy who keeps mindlessly saying “Lego was cheaper back in the day” won’t be able to accept anything you’ve said. He’ll just repeat the same things
