Heat great price!

Schwifty

Horrendous is a bit harsh.

Schwifty

Lol but you get a full refund if you're delayed by an hour and who hasn't got a spare hour or two? Relax, you're on holiday. I've got mixed feelings about Scotrail but tbh not really experienced any train company doing any better.

Schwifty

Brilliant, you'll do, come on up here and stay a week or two at one of our fabulous locations and tell all the expats you meet. Cheers. I'll put you up for a week if you need it, but I'll have to look at you so expect no less than 20 people to be convinced its not worth living here anymore. Shame its so hard to convince them, more and more keep moving up here for clean water, progressive government and landslides.

Lost-Somewhere

That may well be self inflicted. I have travelled a lot of the world and the English get a bad image everywhere. You earned it, be proud of it but don't feel the need to inflict it on all of us.Look inwards before asking for the respect of others. Oh, and I'd not trust Scotfail to get you all the way to Mallaig and back with out some kind of miserable excuse for not getting you home. Always have some kind of backup plan. Don't be fooled by the % of trains on time, they cancel a lot of them to avoid being included in that particular statistic.

When direct train North Berwick to Ayr, which I boarded in Edinburgh, was newly launched, driver and ticket staff got off (did worry me slightly) passengers waited half hour on train at Central Station new driver got on stating destination was now somewhere else not Ayr. Told to go to Station Managers office, I was first to arrive they denied there was such a train with that destination! Explained I had been travelling on it, other disgruntled passengers then arrived to back me up as we had already missed 2 other connecting trains that leave from Central to Ayr. Never good when new service which had been on for a month and they had no knowledge of, how else do they think we must have got there? Maybe staff missed that email or communication as in this promotion :(

FifiFizz

Details in link faster rail journeys on faster new trains now takes 42 mins Edinburgh to Glasgow

Alex_lo

Why just 42 year old? Ageism!

tonik

I turned up at Haymarket ticket desk with my children and my passport to prove I was 42 and they had no idea what I was talking about. I thought I had misunderstood the offer but found the page on their site and showed it to them. They were friendly, had a joke and let me through the barrier. When I got to Glasgow Queen Street, it was the same story but the lady I spoke to in a orange hi vis jacket was really rude. She said it wasn't her problem and "did she look like she was working the gate?" Great promotion but it would save a lot of time if the staff were told about it.

Fantastic deal - helps me out a lot. Thanks for posting. If I buy a 1st class weekly ticket does that entitle me to use 1st class carriages on the routes/weekends in question? Thanks again (y)

diktiomenos

This isn't a defence of TOCs in general or Scotrail in particular, but a signalling fault would be the responsibility of Network Rail. Not that I expected anything better from the Sun.

Voted hot - got two Glasgow - Dunblane tickets for November :)

admirable

The whole point of HDUK is if you think it's a good deal then you vote hot, if you think is a poor deal, IE: you can find the deal cheaper elsewhere, then you vote cold. To vote cold just because the deal is not available in your size, flavour colour, available from your nearest airport or train station is going against the spirit of the site.

CelicaGT-Four

I intended to but you carried on poking the bear... Yes I suggest I don't answer your opening question or we will indeed go round again. We shall have to agree to disagree. Adieu.

cannotthinkofone

So a promotion by a regional rail franchise that doesn't serve your locality, because you don't live in that region, is poor because....? This is an endless loop. You could have stuck to your word at midnight. Goodnight.

CelicaGT-Four

Because such a major exclusion that excludes 92% of the UK population, shouldn't really be hidden away half way down t&C's and should be made clearer. Its a deal breaker for most. I would think you are in the minority of people who did read t&C's first, therefore it was a lot of collected wasted time from the majority. That's the point.

I do agree that it's kinda confusing. I had to read the deal a few times before I posted it to understand but I'm not sure how they could have worded it better. Also, surprised this got to 300+ degrees. In the days of cheap ryanair to hot countries I didn't think it would suit too many. But it's good to see that people recognise Scotland as the second best* place in the world. Thanks for voting guys. *1st is obviously Yorkshire.

UncleWilly

It doesn't have to be consecutive. it can be any four days out of eight. So, for example, you could book one to start on a Saturday and have days out on the Saturday, Monday, Thursday and following Saturday.

deleted1032520

There are plenty pride events to get you started.

joesmum

too many midges or whatever they are called, joking aside this sounds lovely but the weather would need to be hot for me to go back to Scotland, i am always freezing cold when I go there so not sure of the best time to visit!

Taking a road trip around Scotland for a week in June, anyone got suggestions on where to visit?

deleted46656

Erm... this is Scotrail, the country on a brexit derail, taking a vote to see what station are wanted on the travel map LOL I got this email, no good to me or those who suffer the worst Scotrail services further north than the apparent Scottish 'central belt' who have great scheduled services even if they are late! Try having very few options haha, I try book travel advance tiks on Virgin/Cross Country as it is mucho cheaper than Skitrail! ;)

bleachingshane

Although this mentions Arran, will this only get you up to Ardrossan or will it get you on a ferry to Brodick?
