So why do you get blood sugar spikes from carbs, but not from protein, and why has cutting carbs reduced my HBA1C down from 67 to 43. I attended the NHS Desmond education course for diabetics, where they explained the formula for conversion of carbs to sugar.
Yes I am t1... Being on a basal bolus insulin regime does allow more flexible eating without affecting your blood glucose levels too much (both for t1 or t2 diabetes - unfortunately this type of treatment is uncommon for t2)
You Have to also remember that most of these carbs are not sugar. They are mainly complex carbs (which admittedly do change to sugar in you body, but then again fat and protein also change to sugar to get any nutritional benefit). Measuring carbs based on a spoons of sugar equivalent is not take a helpful comparison. This is the kind of thing quoted by very poor tv documentary programmes and newspaper articles...
Are you T1, think mostly will help T2,isn't 250g around 62 spoons sugar a day not being T1 but that seems a lot. But we all react differently if you test and get no spikes guess your lucky
I’m not sure about getting it free. The book in paperback when I bought it was about £4. If you are on Facebook there are groups that will support you too. 8 week blood sugar diet friends is the group I’m in.

Kids healthier portion plate - £1 and other cheap things @ diabetes.org (+£3.50 Delivery on spends less than £35)£4.50
i just bought 2 of these plates. they also sell the cutlery that goes in the holes on the plates. there is some other SALE stuff too but nothing i really want or need.
They do prevent you from buying more than one of any item &size but you can always go female xxl = male L and get your money's worth
I brought 5 of the vests about 4 weeks ago. fast shipping and spot on for the gym or training, go one size up.
They auto-refunded me last time (I think!) when the cycling shirts were OOS. The vests/ tech tshirts are perfect for gym spin classes so I think I'll be buying more! FYI - sizing isn't generous so, if in doubt, go the size up.
that's what they rely on
and that's a huge swerve from me too.... got burnt last time, when similar offer was oversubscribed ethically difficult to ask for a refund from a charity
