I have a Leon and hate it, in part due to the software issues. Also have an Allspace - no software issues with that at all.

Bouncypete

I've got to be honest. I've just rejected a MkiV Octavia lease car. It wasn't this model but I was replacing a more or less like for like Octavia MkIII for a MkiV so I had a direct comparison of what the car 'should' be like. The new version seems to be riddled with software issues that the previous car didn't have. Looking online, it looks like there are plenty of Golf Mk8 and Seat Leon Mk4 owners out there that are also having similar issues to what I experienced with the Octavia. This has put me off leasing anything from the VAG group at the moment until they can sort out their software issues.

I’m after a Kodiaq on a lease. Best I’ve managed to find is this. But I’m always impressed at people finding the deals they do on here, so interested to know if anyone can find anything better.

voted hot as I’d happily give that amount now. Cheapest can find for same deal, but different payment profile, works out £30/month more over 3 years or £12k in total

Coldavenue

I was so excited when i saw the ŠKODA Kodiaq name pop up as I’ve been looking into getting one for months. What a shame it’s just leasing and that high of a monthly price. Who’s paying that much to not show anything at the end of it all. MADNESS.

jop85

I don’t understand. I was lucky to get a Skoda VRS (a £30k car) for under 5k over two years. Coming to the end of the lease, Skoda have now offered to sell the car (to friends/family) for £15k. £5k+£15k=£20k which is a lot less than the £30k. Tell me what’s wrong with leasing

SuffolkLad222

I hope your sons Ollie and Tarquin are well ;)

margamboy

Well it is partly true for me, because without a reliable vehicle I would not be able to get to work to pay for a nice holiday, so in order of priority a car is more important as it helps pay for the holiday and supports lots of other activities I involve myself that give me more pleasure than 2 weeks in the sun such as our annual Skiing holiday in the French Alps, where I need a large and reliable 4x4 vehicle.

Its been cheaper in the past but seems reasonable cost for a well equipped and fast car.

Seems like the dealer concerned is either really busy or not interested in selling, we've been told 3 times since Monday that someone will call us back to discuss the deal and nothing.

rank.bajin

My lease eded on the 10th december but VW/skoda very happy to extend by up to 6 months.

Nexustar

As an aside, for those on current good value leases that are about to run out it is worth talking to leasing company. I got a jaguar xf sportback deal a few years ago and it just ended. However agreed with lex autolease to continue the lease informally at the average lease price. Means I can look around for a good deal without rushing... I am guessing with a lot of people not buying secondhand cars and not driving as much, they aren't in a rush to get the car back and take a covid depreciation hit!

Gambler

I was hoping to get the hybrid version as a company car but the reviews are awful.

People who are worried about returning a lease car and wear... We've returned 4 lease cars so far. A BMW 3 Series 320d, Audi A4 Black Edition, Ford Focus Titanium and Kia Sportage. At the end of each lease I've had a local chap do a full deep valet and scratch repair, cost me around £150-£200 at most. 3 of the cars I had no charges. On the Audi A4 I got hit with £200 of charges but contested it (when you do that they have to take it away and reassess it), never heard back from them after that (been a year) so they probably just decided to throw it in auction. If you return the car in great condition inside and out, they're far more likely to take it straight for sale to save on costs. All the guys who have picked up my lease cars have been taking the cars straight to a location for auction. Morale. Look after your car and set aside a bit of cash for body repairs. Last car (Kia Sportage) only cost me £100 for valet and scratch repair. I received my Skoda Octavia Tech a couple of days ago. Well impressed for the price.

Very strange. Did you have any optional extras added to the order?

lj61

We were told loads of people are ordering which is why it's got so long. Our current Skoda lease was 14 weeks delayed so fingers crossed this time it's not

gRoberts12

Gotta love the dealership I ordered though. They matched the previous deal last month and I paid my deposit. Thought I'd mention the prices had dropped and next thing I know, they have adjusted my order to match this deal!

pgilc1

You might be best ringing and asking.

billyboyjones

The reality is this, you can pay extra! So why not post that deal up and see how it compares? (y) https://bluepoppy.co.uk/car-leasing/skoda/octavia/octavia-5dr-hat-15-tsi-150-se-tchy-act

I'm in the MY18 SE Sport that they offered two years ago and I have been in touch to renew on this. Keen to look at what will happen with lead times and handing my car back. Hoping they'll run the lease on for a short period to cover.

Do you understand the time value of money? I.e. net present value? Cashflow? Etc? If so, then you know why 1+23 is far, far, far better than 9+23.

f2raf

I got the Yeti, last year, Simpsons was great, the car was delayed though, took a good, 3/4 months. Love it though, great car so far, MPG on th e1.2 DSG no where near what they claim. Also you nee to watch out for after sales insurance sells. Scratch & Dent repair, costs a few hundred quid, i didnt take it out. But the one that you may well end up getting is GAP cover, Skoda charge £200, what that does is cover any difference in cost between, the value of the car th einsuranc epays out and the value of the car Skoda says they want, in the event of a right off. Now generally your own insurance will pay the full value in teh first year anyway, but it sthe second year where it matters the most. However I took the cover independently for abou £90 and not £200 by the biggest gap cover provider, recommended on honestjohn website.

f2raf

what difference does it make, over the term you give them the same amount anyway, i feel if i have abigger deposit then my ongoing commitment is coming out of my regular income, so much easier to manage. £109 a month is really nothing, go out a couple of times for a meal with you rmates you spend just as much

sorry to resurrect this thread but just wondered if anybody has tested the body panel damage values out?? I had a minor disaster at the weekend when we drove into a carpark and ripped two bikes of the roof of my Skoda damaging the roof and rear spoiler - I recon it's more than a grand of damage if I get it repaired but from the list of charges I think it would only cost me £330? Anybody had any experience with this?

volksdub

Just got told the same thing following them checking my car today.

support28

vw/Skoda are quite lax when checking for damage when returning the car. according to the lad who came from bca to examine it, they let you get away with more than any other provider

pgilc1

I just looked at Skodas today as it happens. Theres not a pups chance the new Fabia is in line with the new Fiesta. Its cheaper but it very much looks and feels it. The Octavia wouldnt be for me. I'd have a Focus over one no probs. Its the better car dynamically. I'd have a Mondy over a Superb and likewise i gave less for my Passat at a year old than would have bought an equivalent Superb. Decent solid cars, but very much a budget value brand, so i'm oot.

Mada06

Come on, every single car that Skoda produce is of a high quality than the equivalent Ford, Vauxhall, Mazda etc Fiesta v Fabia - Fabia is the better quality car Focus v Octavia - Octavia is the better quality car Mondeo v Superb - Superb is the better quality car Yet you consider a Skoda to be in a group below Ford with Kia and Hyundai? What?

Typically VED is included, yes.

Guzzle

Hi, my Octavia vRS came from Simpsons a couple of years ago. The finance is through VW Financial Services and tax was included for the full duration. But you should always check rather than leave it to chance.

FestiveCheer

Thanks for that.....I wonder if tax (1st year) is included in the deal? I'm very tempted.

m5rcc

You need to maintain the warranty, therefore one service at end of year one.
