What is the Slingbox?

The Slingbox is a piece of hardware that lets you watch your home satellite, cable, digital or analogue TV anywhere! Whether you’re at home, in the garden, at work or on the other side of the world, the Slingbox’s unique software allows you to watch, control and even record on your home TV subscription. Whether at a desktop PC, working on your laptop or using your Windows Mobile PDA – your TV is accessible anywhere – no matter where you are!!!!

Are there monthly fees?

With the Slingbox, you are simply streaming TV content you have already paid for via your TV license and satellite/cable connection. They are NO monthly fees and absolutely NO subscription charges.

How does it work?

The Slingbox utilises your existing wireless network to stream your content around the internet, making it available for access via your unique user ID. There are 3 simple steps in setting up your Slingbox:

1) Connect your Sky/Cable box to the Slingbox using a standard S Video connection lead
2) Connect your Router/Modem Router to the Slingbox using an ethernet cable
3) Load the SlingPlayer software onto your PC/Laptop or PDA and set up your user account – and away you go!

New model is out thats possibly why. It has HD connections... thats about the only difference though I think...

Thanks for the info Babbler I guess that HD connection will help some...

Good deal - I am interested in one of these but I think the price has to come down a bit further until I pick one up myself.

John

ok i'm new to the forum so probably shouldn't be giving advice, but if you put the total price in the title rather than the discount i wouldn't have read this

I thought they'd come down in price - if it was £31 I'd still have to think about it at present tbh

It is 135 quid at Currys.
To get this price use BPWASH10 (10% discount) and PRFREEDEL vouchers.

If you use the voucher in the OP, it knocks 99p off as well :-D

These are also marked down to 149 in store, so the 31 discount is hardly "exclusive".

just clicked the link and its £129.99!! and the code NOW35 didnt do anything!!
