Thanks, was not in a rush for that so very useful. Agree, its not worth its £70 normal price, though useful for anyone paying that. I suspect it also allows a PC to give any mapping software access to the GPS. Quick maths say you can download to PC and clear every 3 months if odometer is the main use. And thank Simon.
Anyone reading this, to download the software to link it to your pc go to https://www.snooperneo.co.uk/CustomerMain.cfm and then put in the serial number that is on the back of the unit. You can then go to download software, and get the PC companion software. Regarding navigation, this unit only has a basic compass arrow to direct you back to a saved point. I would say it is not suitable for navigation. For under £20 I would say that it was a good buy, but at £60 it is not as good as a cheap garmin device. The fact that you have to use the proprietary software to access you ride, and then if you want to upload it to say strava the only way I can see of doing it is to export it as a gpx file. The basic problem to me is probably just that, having used garmin devices before it is a whole new thing to learn, and it does not seem intuitive to me. I guess if it was your first Bike GPS it might be different.
Any one who has used one of these, please can you tell me how the navigation works? Is it a case of a dot following a line on the screen that represents the route or is it like the system on my Garmin edge 200 were it just shows an arrow on the screen when it is time to make a turn? Thank you.
Did anyone get one of these? Mine seems to work, but I cannot work out how to get the data off it onto my PC. It says to go to memory map and download software, but that is a dead link. The unit shows up on the computer as a LOCOSYS Technology GPS Receiver , but I can't for the life of me work out how to see the saved data. I'll email the seller, I was just wondering if anyone had worked out how to do it. It did not come with a driver disk or anything.
Arrived doesn’t work; charged for 12 hours; works on charge lead, no joy on own.
