One of the best and impartial review sites to get 'FREE' software is Gizmo's Freeware. Here is a link to the anti-malware section but they have sections for everything, educational, office, antivirus, archivers, cd burning, media players, Zzzzzz, Zzzzzz.... and on and on. Gizmo's Freeware Anti-Malware Reviews I hope someone finds this excellent site useful to save a few pennies on software. Regards Flea

This software is not worth purchasing. Not because it is "bad" (it might not be) but because any such software isn't really worth paying for with perfectly decent free options available. Use the free MS Security Essentials (in Win 8 it's already installed as "Defender"), and use a different browser such as Chrome, Firefox or Opera. In the former two, install adblock. Then just be careful where you browse.

So how do you know if you've never used any. I've seen people with antivirus software installed with rootkit viruses on their machine and they are totally oblivious to the fact that their machine is being used to ddos people and relay spam. I remember installing Windows XP (or was it Win2k ?) on a brand new machine which was connected to the internet - without even browsing the internet it got infected within minutes by an exploit.

Better to use free AV like Avast and anti-malware like SuperAntiSpyware/Malwarebytes/Windows Defender.

I have been using bitdefender internet security for many years now. 1 year 1 pc for 2.95 is kind of expensive. Currently 2 year 3 user bitdefender internet security is available for £4.92 in amazon. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B003MP9FJM/ref=dp_olp_new_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=new This is a 2010 version, but you get a free upgrade to the latest version. Always works. I do this every time I need to renew.

Lol here we go with the "my antivirus is bigger and better than yours" rubbish.

Avast can be switched to silent / gaming mode.

It doesn't take much to stop Sage working perticullarly if you are talking about line50 over a Network, Terribly designed piece of software, needs to be rewritten to use a Proper Client/Server architecture with a real DB engine not by directly writing to the DB across a network (Smb) share. Bitdefender is a nice light antivirus, sees to do reasonably well in detection tests and this is a reasonable price per license, Companies do need to make some money somewhere otherwise they cease to exist

Actually, wondering if that's the product on offer now - well if its not - go for Avast! :D

That's eBay for you. so many scammers and dis honest sellers/buyers.

Thats fair enough, and i presume their was nothing you could do about it either because it was two months down the road. to be honest i hate eBay as well, full of people thinking they can get something for nothing (sellers and buyer) and they wonder why traffic is slowly dropping off from their website.

Had two incidents on ebay where I purchased Kaspersky and Norton. 2 months or so down the line. Keys were not working no more. Contact sellers never got reply. From that day onwards I never buy from eBay any more.

Why not? i sell lots of Software online, admittedly 95% of my sales are on Amazon, but all of my software is 100% legitimate, if you buying from a private or a none VAT registered company i would agree with you but any VAT registered company selling bogus software is then liable for a law suite.

Microsoft Security Essentials is great, that's what I use on my laptop. However on Windows 8 it is called Windows Defender. This is for the AVG fans LOL

Was looking at the site that spannerzone kindly shared earlier and came across this freebie that looks worth downloading as well.

True, but its enough to fix errors and delete program. Otherwise you can get it work for as long as you want,if you know how...

15 day trial with tune up utilities then you have to buy it....

Tune Up Utilities far far better. This one makes more mess than tuning. But as it is free-not voting either way.

For the full program excellent deal for free - I have the 2010 version and it's v good. Thanks! Nb - upon installation do a custom install and in install prog only and avoid free toolbar and web homepage - though they have to get their audience somehow. No need to go 'premium' either - the prog is excellent once registered!

Beware, Mcaffee Total protection has detected virus in this download and has blocked my download. Have the Antivirus in place before downloading.

Gimp is raster, this is vector. You should be asking why use this over Inkscape.

Mine keeps saying the trial has expired? I have put the code that they have emailed me into it.

erm .. can't itunes do that?

I decided to download this newer version . Just downloaded the .exe file and my antivirus program detected a conduit toolbar and quaranteend it .I dont like that so will delete the exe .

Nope, no design facility. There is a print function, in which it will take an existing picture and try to fit onto the insert/cd face - all very rudimentary and of very little use. Try the Ashampoo Cover Studio 2 demo (£7 to buy right now). Never used it, so don't know if it is any good. My Canon printer came with an app to do that.

will this let me copy cds onto my iphone???

Is there a cd insert designer with this... is it any use? My old copy of nero cover designer just plain doesnt work anymore.

Security suites never get any heat here, presume most people use free. Still worth posting, though, for the people who don't trust free software. Sometimes this is even warranted.

Good feature set with this security suite Hopefully they have got rid of the awful 2011 blue on blue interface design voted hot

Avira free anti virus with free Comodo Firewall works very well. A monthly scan with free Malwarebytes is also useful.just Google for them and make sure you are on the proper home page. Install Avira first, then Comodo. Ignore popup about Windows Defender, seems to work fine with both installed on Windows 7 and a reasonably up to date machine. http://www.avira.com/ http://www.comodo.com/ http://www.malwarebytes.org/
