My opinion only so don't get offended.
But I buy a tv for picture quality not for sound quality..at this price what can you ask more? Buy a soundbar or a proper audio system ::)

Merry Christmas!

I agree with you and all for TVs abandoning speakers altogether if it were to save me money since I have a sound system to make up for TVs poor sound quality. ^^

I returned a sharp 40" due to poor sound and the least responsive menu I've ever seen, so incredibly frustrating...likewise, much much happier with a samsung
Just bought a Samsung TV and sound bar. TV sound is that good we hardly ever use the sound bar.

Don't judge all the sharp ones the same, we have a budget 32" with Harmon kardon speakers in my daughter's bedroom and the sound blows my son's 32" LG out of the water. The LG was almost twice the price. Infact the sharp is perfect for my daughter with a Netflix button on the remote and the great sound etc it's one of my best purchases, the smart interface is terrible compared to LG webOS but we didn't buy it for that so we're not bothered.

This. A thousand times this. If you care about sound quality, no TV's speakers are going to be good enough. Invest in a decent enough set of speakers and not only will it sound better than any TV or soundbar, they should last you decades, through several TVs. I bought a Logitech Z-5500 (5.1 THX certified system) with my first HDTV 10 years (and 2 TVs) ago and they're probably going to last me at least another 10 years.

Lol..changed to " :)) " this is 2017!! First, get a life, second " should " or shouldn't. .it is what it is. So stop winging and irritate people with all this moaning about sound on a .. TV!!!
I know word " trolling " is a trend but use it when u'r right about something.
If you have a good/quality sound they need to thick speakers for more power, if they do this you will moan that tv looks like the one from 90s, if they invest in it and instead of 300, price will be 400..you will moan that is to expensive and doesn't worth buying it..so actually if you think about it..you always have reasons to moan.
Just be happy and grateful for what u having. If not spend a grand and buy something with " better " sound

Look who's moaning I think I'll take the opinion of someone who owns the tv rather than someone who doesn't. You said if they put decent speakers the price would be higher and people would moan but you fail to recognise that there are other TV's out there same size, price with decent sound which the reviewer is making people aware of. A Sound bar would be good but if someone is looking for a deal like on a sharp they are looking to spend less as possible so I would think a sound bar would be out of the question, so good of them to point it out helps people look for something else. Btw not everyone has a sound bar and no you don't need to spend 1k for better sound. Know the target audience for a sharp Vs sony. And no they don't compromise sound for better picture, they do that to increase sales.

Get a sound bar
Caring about speakers on a TV? Nah man. There are positives that come with super thin TVs but the sound ain't one of them.
Lesson learnt - if you marry a nun, don’t expect a family. Merry Christmas 🎄

Every year the sound in phones and TVs get smaller and smaller to make way for thin specs and more features. It's common for people to invest in a soundbar or home theatre system.
lots of comments re sound bars, cant you just route the sound through your Hi Fi,far more control .

Sure but I suspect the majority of people don't own a Hi-Fi.
My really old 720p sharp 26 inch LCD had fantastic sound. The speakers were at the bottom of the set and screwed on, connected by audio wire. Essentially a soundbar in itself

I really don't agree with that at all we have a 4k 49" one that we've had for just around a year now and it's a flipping fantastic TV! Dlna client works unbelievably well and although the smart functionality may be more limited than Samsung it's never ever crashed on me like I've seen Samsung sets do over and over again!

We were very dissatisfied with the sound on our new sharp TV. We went to menu, settings, and sound, then increased the treble. It made a great difference. Worth a try.

Ahhh i got wiped on here for nothing! I have one and the other is my brothers. He was on a tight budget but now regrets it and i bought mine with the double up vouchers
There are so many TV deals posted on HUKD, and so much great advice offered.

By now, the penny should've dropped. Cheap supermarket TVs with made up brand names or Vestel/UMC made TVs are cheap for a reason.

Those that swear by their Polaroid 50" are only convincing themselves they have a great set on a par with a Sony...

Read the advice. Look at the great deals regular posted for branded TVs like Sony, LG, Samsung....and ask all the questions you like!
