hehe thats ok. and yeah i just changed the last digit of my postcode x

took the 3 disks at time and added games still get 90 days trial

thanks for this, great find registered got my 3 months chose games too

go through quidco, and used the voucher and it should validate

Fantastic find. I had the Lovefilm one and have been waiting for another free trial from somewhere else. Heat and rep added.

You realise that "the postcode trick" is an action of criminal fraud? It's theft, pure and simple.

"Obtaining goods or services under false pretences by deliberate misrepresentation"

At very least Tesco would be entitled to bill you for the full three months if they notice.

Who got out of the bed on the wrong side?

The Tesco one is actually the same as LoveFilm so I don't know if it will work. Keep us posted.

thanks for this, just used a different email address and got as far as check out but cant find where to put the code
help please

the code should be the first thing you put in.

i did this last week, changed last digit of postcode, but luckily as soon as the account is done you can change it, unlike on lovefilms own site, so i changed it back and its worked fine.

to the person going on about fraud - if lovefilm were worth the money, people would pay. but top items are never sent, discs are usually in a bad way, and the turnaround isnt always quick.

£18 per month for games rentals, i dunno it just doesnt seem a good deal. if they did maybe a half price deal, id take it. as it is i have paid for 2 months in the past, but had about 2 years for free. and i feel i have only just gotten the moneys worth.

thanks i will go back and start again and have a look

Tried the code and it work a treat. First time user of DVD rental. Should be able to get thru a fair few films in 3 months. Better than any Sky Moveis deal. Thanks OP.

You make valid points - but you dont have a legal leg to stand on - the other guy is right it is fraud but what isnt these days? :whistling:

Firstly, it almost certainly is fraud. That's a crime and you don't get excuses, especially pathetic ones like that. Also, unlike illegal downloading you are actually potentially depriving the company and other customers of material goods.

Also, please don't take this personally, but do you really think a viable philosophy for peaceful human interaction is that we go about repaying bad with bad and justifying our actions with a childish 'they started it / brought it upon themselves' attitude? The only reasonable action you could be taking is to take advantage of their free offer once (as per the conditions). Then having established that their service is poor you choose not to support them further monetarily and cease using their services. Clearly you do find their service good enough to break the law for...

Just try with a new e-mail address.

I'm sure their T&C's say you cant have 2 free trials etc. etc. and ignorance is no defence. They have systems in place that should stop you claiming more than 1 free trial. They will email you and warn you that you are not entitled and they are going to charge you and you then have the option to decline. They dont threaten to take you to court for attempted fraud.

If their systems are so weak and they fail miserably and you get a second ( or sixth!) free trial and they dont ask for money.... well the choice is yours. They frequently offer a comeback offer which is effectively a second 90 day free trial anyway.

Personnally I would never accept a free offer that I'm not entitled to and I always let the girl on the till know when she scans an underpriced item! :whistling:

go through quidco, the code will automatically come up, cut and paste the code here and click okay,

I have to admit though, as yet we have only received films that are our last choices, so not so hot for us at the moment, as it it continued like this, I would not carry on the subscription

got email this morning
they say ive already had a trial
so different email dosnt work

Pot luck sometimes on reactivation.

I used the same postal and email addresses but had to change my debit card details as it had expired. The free trial went through as sweet as a nut.

Good deal, hot

Its an affiliated site so it still works, mines up and running

Lots of things are not fraud.

And to blame this on Tesco for having a weak defence against your illegal deception is just nonsense.

Can I post that there's a great deal on Tesco wine because they have such weak store detection you can take it free without they catching on? Would that get voted hot here?

What about if I posted were you can get the latest Hollywood movies for £1? Or a stolen wii for £10?

I hardly think getting a free offer twice or more is quite the same as shoplifting, and It is perfectly possible to do this without giving any false names, information or illegal deception whatsoever. In many cases you can get a second free offer by simply applying again. Wait a couple of months and they'll often invite you back with a code for another free re-trial anyway, so they hardly treat you as a criminal!! That's where the OP's code most likely came from.

If I have 2 vouchers for a free hamburger, and it says only one per person, and the assistant is dumb enough to accept them both, then I'm classed as a criminal because I've defrauded Ronald MCDonald. Well I best go down the nick and hand myself in now. :?

Carrying on the theme, a large numer of posts on here ought to be deleted as they often tell people how to exploit loopholes and mispriced items and give out codes not meant for other peoples use etc. How many people took advantage of buying Argos gift vouchers to get £10 back I wonder? Their terms and conditions said it wasn't allowed but the tills said it was OK to do it and most assistants did.

Now I guess that makes the Argos shop assistants criminals as well as they were aiding and abetting someone to comit fraud!!

does anyone know how long i must wait till i know my activation is successful

Usually within just a few hours. They have to validate you against your bank or credit details so they can charge you when your free trial is over if you dont cancel.

normaly discs are sent out the next day so either wait for an email saying no joy or watch your list and will show when they have allocated and posted them

well said!! i dont know why some people moan.. who could moan at getting 3months worth of free dvds!! drives me nuts. i dont even reply to them but ur reply was fab lol xx

Can anyone tell me how you add games, I signed up for the unlimited 3 discs at once and it keeps telling me I can 'add games for 98p' but I am buggared if I can work out how.

Lovefilms (& Tesco Rental) business model works on getting as many people as possible signed up on Free Trials on the assumption that you will forget to cancel. To get a free trial they need to validate both you and your Debit or Credit card details so they already have the ability to take payment off you.

That is why you can sometimes get one or more free trials, because they are banking on one of these times you'll forget to cancel or return the discs in time and they then take your money.

Despite already having had free trials, and hence being a known customer, today I received both an email and a letter in the post inviting me back for more free trials. The codes may or may not work but some have in the past. At Christmas I received a 90 day free trial voucher to give to a family member so if it lets me use it instead of my "Uncle Sid" then they are not out of pocket by a single penny as they were already prepared to give away 90 days free to someone anyway.

It's a simple business model, not rocket science and hardly criminal fraud. For everyone that "milks their system" there are dozens more that end up paying

I opted for the games at signup, but I nearly missed the option...I thought there was a tab just above the signup screen that says add games or additional options

however yet to see sight of any games as yet

When you sign up if asks if you want games, its highlighted and when you click it will show the combo packages for discs and games. if you change you package now your trial will end and they will charge you but if you give them a ring they may change it for you

It worked for me and i have had the free trial before, i did the changing last letter of the post code and it worked! thanks alot. To all those moaners, get a life!

ive just signed up but when i checked my bank account i have been charged £7 something....what have i done wrong and more importantly what can ido about it?

did you change the package after you signed up? give them a ring tomorrow

I know the Tesco site is run by lovefilm, but is there any difference in delivery times etc?

just as quick for both send new dvds/games the same day they receive my returns

I think I need to write a letter to The Times and lobby my MP ... or House of £ords Representative! :whistling:
