How does the price match work? Is it a link specifically generated for you?

No longer working. I did manage to get John Lewis to match. :)

I don't think it has fired anything. Search LG OLED55CX5LB on HUKD. This TV was on sale for £1,199 in November last year (same seller). So this is no new deal or a new chapter or anything like it. It is a very good price for the TV though. Link

It'll be back - probably at 6pm from THT. Otherwise I think it has fired the starting pistol on other sellers to consider dropping the price below £1200.

The big 2020 OLED sale lasted 8hours :D (y)

Yeah, price has gone up so I've expired the deal.

It's £1299 when I look so looks like a temporary price that has gone back up.

They do this every evening. I think it may be a way to attract traffic to their site. They often have some fabulous deals each evening and over night. They are based in Scotland and only deliver locally. If you live in that area then it is worth checking their website every evening and buying from them as you will get a fantastic deal at some point.

When I put it on this morning it was £1220 but they've now put it up to 1399 so deal has now expired.😡

and I searched their website for this tv and it's £1399. what am I missing?

Agree not correct link.

LG or RS won’t offer burn in warranty. movies are definitely no issue and almost all games have HUD,these CX/GX series of OLED are very popular around the world n among gamers and I haven’t seen many complains.I personally wouldn’t worry that much, that being said if you truly don’t want that kind of worry n want to be 100% relax and safe then a top of the range (like Q9 series not low end ones!) Samsung QLED is the way to go and the next best thing with zero chance of burn in. thats what I did 2 years ago,I chose a QLED over OLED for this exact reason they were similar in price but OLEDS of 2018 were much more prone to burn in.

I will watch films but mainly be gaming with it.. my worry is the hud in pretty much every game ever :/ fancy having to be really careful with your new tv? :) crazy.. I might email LG and ask them about it? I’ll definitely speak to staff tomorrow when I click n collect to see what they think about the whole situation and maybe consider swapping it for QLED to be safe! or am I worrying too much? Googling it didn’t help.. :/

yeah LG has implemented some new features to mitigate burn in their newer range, they are much better than older ones. try to avoid watching news/sport channels with permanent logo/new feed etc for long periods. if you just game, you should be fine just enable screen saver and other burn in safety features TV has logo brightness reduction, etc and obviously don’t leave it on paused avoid static logos and try using it for variety of content. It still can happen if you push it but you should be fine if you are careful (nerd)

Damn it! :) too late now.. I’ll have to be a careful chap? Is there a methodology to minimise the risk or eradicate it even? Surely OLED has been out long enough for LG to implement some kind of contingency for said issues? :s I have heard some people say they’ve never had any burn in multiple years of use and abuse?

Sadly no,you just get their standard 6 years warranty. that’s why people try to get JL price match whenever there’s a deal elsewhere.

Heads up! On all 2020 LG TV’s The biggest and most surprising webOS change is actually something LG TV’s 2020 has lost: the catch up apps for the UK’s main terrestrial broadcasters. This is because LG and Freeview Play were for some reason unable to renew their usual deal, leaving LG having to try and get the, ITV Hub, All4, My5 and so on added individually. Something LG is saying it is working on, but without any confirmed timescale

They Changed back to £1299

Link doesn't work. Shows as £1299 when looking for it.

LG OLED 55CX5LB 4K UHD TV. Excellent tv for home cinema and gaming. Scottish store lists it £100.00 less than most mainstream retailers.

Yep, do it a week before then you get 14 days. Which covers black Friday and cyber Monday.

Seems smart so to hold out until Black Friday week to get the best price match. Ordering online shouldn't be an issue like busy stores are. My guess is most deals will be online this year because of Covid as retailers will want to discourage large crowd gatherings

If it's the same as last year, they only price match their own price. So if you buy for £2000 and they drop to £1900 they will give you £100. Not sure if gift cards are included but I assume so. But if a competitor drops to £1700, and they stay at £2000 they won't give you anything. You'll have to box up the TV and send it back and reorder it again using the price beat against the competitor. I ordered early to avoid the rush, as black Friday used to be manic and getting deals online was hard and delivery time wasn't great. Last year wasn't that bad online although I heard the richer sounds stores were busy.

Will the refund when they release one of their Black Friday 100 pound discount codes?

Just check the t&C's. Richer sounds last year didn't drop their prices so wouldn't refund when other shops dropped their prices. They would only lower prices on price beats not any existing sales. I brought at richer sounds for £1799 by price matching Costco. When the TV dropped to £1650 richer sounds wouldn't refund as their price was now £1799. But they said I could box up and return the TV and reorder it again as a price beat but it wasn't worth it given how long it takes to unpack the oled TVs.

Sorry .I don't own both but viewed them together. Personally I didn't need any speaker upgrade as it is rigged up to a Sonos beam. I couldn't justify another 300 as I could not tell any great difference. You hear a lot on HUKD from people just quoting the better processor on c9 but not convinced how many actually own b or c 9 and just presuming the picture is a lot better quoting spec sheets. Maybe if Costco bring c9 near to 1500 in next 2 months I can sent it back and get the c9 but no interest at moment in spending another 300 for family to say what's the difference?

I'm torn between the B9 and the C9 so it's interesting to hear your comments as you own both and I already have a Samsung n850 soundbar with rear speakers so the audio from the C9 isn't any extra benefit to me over the B9 Would you definitely go for the B9 then as it's cheaper and you say visually not any difference

It was 300 difference when I bought 1499 v 1799 .Spec says a better processor but as a owner of one and viewing both before I bought there was no difference .You would need to be a professional reviewer to spot any difference. Each to their own if you are buying one as won't be disappointed in either.

Link's broken. When I searched on the site it shows: Our Price: £1,299.00 Is the original deal gone?

Very hard visually to tell much difference.I bought the b9 65 and couldn't tell the difference looking at the c9 .Believe the c9 has better speakers but would imagine most buyers already have a soundbar . C9 needed another 300 on top.

Was £1799. RS will price beat down to £1779. I expect this may hover around £1899/1999 with the big boys now until Easter sale. Potential drop back to £1799 or even £1699 to push through final stock.

£1799 in Sheffield branch today.

How much is the C9 in Costco? If anyone with a membership can let me know. Can’t find one under £1899 now.

Basically manager’s discretion. You’re right, they wouldn’t have to do it though.

You're right, I would assumed 5yrs as I couldn't find details of it
