Might be worth a look at this deal too. If the code works, it's an extra battery and 3ah for £10 extra. https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/dewalt-dcd796m2-gb-18v-li-ion-brushless-combi-drill-2-x-40ah-16998-with-code-at-toolstation-3491320

The 290 pack consists of the highest end older models now. Their replacements would the DCD996 combi and the DCF887 driver. You can get the DCD 796 and the DCF887 usually in a kit together for around the £250 mark when on offer. The 887 driver is better spec than the 885. It has 3 preset torque settings which I think Is very useful. A driver is in and around £70 and a 4ah battery around £50. The 985 combi is better than the 796 mostly and it has big torque numbers 80nm I believe. I would probably prefer the 796 and 887 driver personally as a set. But the set you posted would also be very good. Any Drill combi north of and including the DCD778 will be plenty suffice for general masonry work DIY and most pros. Really the higher 996 etc is for things like reinforced concrete conditions etc. Anything heavier than 13 to 15mm and you need the bigger SDS drills.

o51enough

Oh yeah, sorry I must have been led to a different drill when looking on YouTube at reviews

The_Ramrod

No dont worry! I think it's great that people are doing this sort of thing. Once it's all up and built it will be a great achievement then it gets addictive building stuff. Yes the chuck is the front bit that tightens down on the drill bit. Metal is harder wearing and some times if the plastic gets damaged for example it can feel rough which is why I believe people prefer the metal chuck but for most its negligible.

Hi does anyone know if this could be loft mounted? as want to just connect one tv from it not splitting it already have aerial on roof but don’t want to pay someone to run another cable from it thanks

jasee

Yes, I know, I wrote that in my original post, the mods altered it for some reason, so I wrote it in the description

dmm1000

well some may have that experience, but for the use cases i've seen and installed log periodics are more sensitive

jasee

No there is no such thing as a 'digital' aerial' however that is what it is marketed as. What it means is (as most people know) it is suitable for digital signals rather than the analogue signals previously used. These signals require a better aerial. The log aperiodic ones are less senstive as the elements are not regularly spaced and it is folded so there is less moment around the mounting point however the Labgear and similar types are still very popular and can be seen in many places throughout the country.

Ah that makes sense

mcek

What I've read on their website, the rounded corner ones fit into a smaller back box, so you pay for a slimmer design.

CoolCarCuffs

It appears this company stocks two almost identical versions of this, one with rounded corners and one with square The latter is this one but the rounded corner ones are quite a few pounds more for some reason despite having no other discernable difference

stevevalo

Also, these need to have USB sockets as well. If you can hold off, it would save having to replace them again.

Buy a 2nd, lower spec router to add to your network, dedicated use only for your smart lights/sockets. Easier than faffing around when you change your ISP or upgrade your main router.

I just realised the Duracell offer on here is for 20xAA and 20xAAA for £10 so I've kicked myself in the backside for not paying attention.

eslick

Was talking about the 10 packs that go from £2.90 to £3.50 yes 2 less batteries but better battery all round. the pound shops do sell panisonic ones as well or they do round our way but just noticed they are a different pack to these ones. :)

spannerzone

Those 20 packs on Amazon are £10 and for £9.90 this gets you 36 batteries The poundland might do, depends what you get but if it's 4 polaroid alkalines for £1 or 12 Panasonic alkalines for £3.30 I'll be spending the extra 30p every time, those poundland ones are not identical as these.

eslick

Better to go for the Duracell industrial ones from Amazon or eBay than these poundland specials :(

waiting for USB C is a waste of time...think of all of the items that you charge by USB at the moment....the likelihood of you getting an abundance of items that need charging by USB C in the near future is small.....that and then anything standard USB you'd need to get a separate cable If this was of course tongue in cheek you have got me hook line and sinker Good deal as far as I am concerned, that being said, Ive been getting mine from Amazon for £12.50 odd so Im locked into them really as I want them all to match....got 4 in the house so far

This looks good and quite cheap too, why cold?

At least I added the VAT!

I see somebody edited my post to add p&p. I. didn't add the postage as it is free click and collect for those fortunate enough to live close to a store.

ManiSingh

Thinking it'll be good to wait for USB C to make its play for standardisation.
