Not everyone's cup of tea, but if it is.... There is a great firing range were you can try almost every type of Pistol / Machine Gun / Rifle etc. It's also my favourite city due to all the lovely people there.

darren9030

Try Lithuania ;)

Agreed, I met my current "girlfriend" in Budapest in May. Shes from Serbia which is their neighboring country but she is better looking and mannered than most of the girls here in the UK.

It's really worth it and we had amazing weather. If you need advice about buda, feel from to comment and i'll try to reply :)

It's OK they have SGR & IATA, similar equivalent. I queried it ages ago & got this email back from them - As a Dutch company TravelBird B.V. is registered under the Dutch Chamber of Commerce registration number 32169836. TravelBird B.V. is a registered participant of SGR, the Dutch travel guarantee fund. You can verify this on www.sgr.nl/guaranteescheme. British customers who book holidays listed on this website are covered by SGR’s guarantee, within the terms of the SGR guarantee scheme. Under SGR’s guarantee, consumers shall have their prepaid travel sum refunded if their counterparty is unable to fulfill its contractual obligations due to financial inability. Insofar as the agreement includes the transport and the destination has already been reached, the return trip will be arranged. This has been on our website for a couple of months now, so it is all still fairly new! And no worries! If there is anything else we can assist you with, please let us know! If anyone wants a good guide/company for Everest Base Camp or similar in Nepal then I can certainly recommend Nepal Gateway Trekking Pvt. Ltd. I used them and so have my friends . Ask for Raj.

Have some heat :) However, anyone booking this should be aware that TravelBird is Dutch company which currently does not have ATOL nor ABTA protection.

I wouldn't say Warwick castle is a ripoff. It's not cheap and it's not like NT or EH places. Kids love the place. At the moment the have a 20% off day tickets on their website for day tickets. You can upgrade day tickets to a second day for 1 GBP. If you go there and didn't book a ticket in advance go to the tourist info. They sell the tickets a couple of pounds cheaper. The tourist info is a 2 minute walk away at the corner castle street and jury street. If you want to go into the dungeon while you visit. Go there first and book your time slot. Otherwise you could be waiting a couple of hours. For a party of up to five it will be cheaper if you buy a Warwick castle annual pass, because you get 4 complimentary tickets that are valid from the day you collect it, also free parking at one of the carparks and 20% off food, drinks and most of the stuff in the stores. The dungeon is not included and costs 9 GBP extra on the day or 7.50 if you call them. If you go by train they do the national rail 2 for 1 offer. There are no gates at the train station. Check the timetable on their website they do a lot of stuff in the summer and don't miss the archery display and the trebuchet. If it reads "The Mighty Trebuchet" they will fire it in the morning and with a fireball in the evening if it reads "Trebuchet talks" they just talk about it. And visit the town centre it is a really nice old town. Free admission to Warwickshire and St John house museum. For 2.50 GBP you can climb the tower of St Mary's church. A great view from up there.

I used to work in Redditch. Don't go! compare it to Blackbird leys, Telford or any other 50s pop up overspill town. Warwick castle is another Merlin ripoff too.

.."1 night in a Family, Triple or Double Room".. Anyone know if I could book a triple room price £109 rather than £199 and get little one to share bed ? but have 2 adults and 2 kids enter the park?

LesD

Nicely put! ;) I was just gonna say you could get the whole thing for 'free' if you used IHG Reward Points for the room. But I won't!

millarcat

Yeah rajeee3, if you have CC vouchers that's a really good way to do it.

rajeee3

If you have Tesco vouchers then would suggest using them for cheap tickets to WMSP (£5.50/person) which includes a free return visit. Holiday Inn Express prices for certain dates could be as little as £45 for an advance purchase family room (Membership price; but IHG membership is free to sign up to); buffet breakfast is normally included at the Holiday Inn Express' I'm planning on visiting at the start of April, Friday night stay for 2 people and 2 tickets to WMSP has "cost" me £45 (Hotel) + £11 (vouchers). Does mean you have to forward plan and hope weather is good on the day (cancellation not included in the cheap rooms of course, and have Tesco vouchers to spare...might not appeal to all but worth looking into. Even if you're a family of 4,staying on a Saturday night maybe, you could (da specific i'm sure, i only checked Saturday 2nd April) would potentially be £59.40 + £22 so slightly cheaper than the Travelbird offer; if you're looking to use Tesco vouchers of course. (An alternative to consider is Premier Inns; no breakfast included but advanced bookings can be as cheap as £35/night)

millarcat

I've just had a look on the West Midlands Safari Park website and here's the prices for tickets alone on fixed dates (which give 25% off) 2 Adults - Total: £44.00 2 Adults & 2 Children - Total: £78.00 So £119 for a family of four and a one stay and breakfast in the offer in the OP is really good.

I booked this few weeks ago off a living social deal, wish i had of waited now as this cheaper

Our family visited recently and had a very enjoyable day. Our daughter is in a wheelchair...access was brilliant, a specially adapted car is available on the cadabra ride and the staff couldnt have been more helpful. I wouldnt say its a day out but certainly a nice morning or afternoon trip. Only complaint was that the wheelchair accessible outside play area was a small consisting of 2 decked areas joined by a bridge. Not very exciting.

My apologies - a love affair with hats and fields left me feeling a little defensive.

b0d

Er ... Thank you for pulling me up on my whimsical comment. :|

TheWorthinger

Have you? Where in the OP does it say that Hatfield - record shops and shopping malls included - is the deal? It's an overnight stay in a hotel in Hatfield that forms only a very small part of the deal - not the whole town. Having been shown by someone who has actually experienced this deal - publandlord - to be an unreliable source of "advice", and also illogically basing your "knowledge" of another individual's experience of a location based solely on where they live, you've now taken to pointless sniping. Good lord but Freud would have have his work cut out with you.

Besford

Now you're really embarrassing yourself - have you even read and understood the thread?

TheWorthinger

Er...the deal isn't Hatfield.

The barmen wear kevlar vests in some of the pubs in Riga. At least they did when I went around 7 years ago..

dreamager

It's fairly warm right now like we are, but should be back to -20 by end of January

sol_vita

No need to pay high transfer fees. Public transport bus will take you to the city centre for about 2 Eur. The stop is just outside the airport and there are buses every 15 minutes or so.

fleeze69

It's actually quite a nice city, I went with the Mrs earlier in the year and would definitely go back.

mshtel

expensive we only paid £80 for 3 nights for hotel and flight may be better going when flight prices are lower.

Birmingham was fine until that misshapen golf ball thingy totally spoiled the Bullring area.

harrythefish

There's also a real Beatles themed hotel in Liverpool, minutes walk from the excellent shopping centre. http://www.harddaysnighthotel.com/ Even if you don't stay there, try the Beatles cocktail bar next to the lobby.

nickz98

Clearly you've forgotten about Birmingham :-)

darren9030

Being A West Ham fan i've visited our Capital on many occasions ( usually gone home disappointed i must add ) & have to disagree. The sheer scale of visitors in the main attraction areas make getting around very slow , everyone on the tube looks like they've lost a tenner & found a pound , Pubs & restaurants are too expensive - not to mention housing . Having been to every city in England ( & staying in them all except 2 ) they are my 2 favs anyway :D

kikboy

Darren the best two cities in England are London and of course London again.
