Would the same logic not apply to all the food within the supermarkets? Also, you are supporting people during a difficult time financially. Finally, some people are housebound and need food delivered
michaelgold26/03/2020 13:17

Only fools get take out in these times.

Why?

1) Going to the supermarket
- go outside
- congregate with many others
- pick up items handled by shelf stackers and other shoppers
- hold baskets and trolleys held by other shoppers
- interact with items and staff at the checkout that has been used by 100s of people for the past day

2) Takeaway
- have food prepared by 2 to 4 staff tops i.e. significantly less than people who work in a supermarket
- takeaway staff have a rigorous routine of cleaning before the start work anyway
- zero interaction with the public or outside world. No need to be congregated amongst many others who handle items touched by many others

Where is this nonsense that takeaways are worse coming from? The government has taken extensive action to stop all non essential shops from operating and takeaways and restaurant deliveries isn't one of them.

Just a thought
Imagine all those delivery riders, drivers sitting around waiting for a delivery, on and of their bikes, in and out of the shops, door handles and bike handles, maybe a driver in and out of the car, steering wheel. I’m sure this is safe but im just saying at this moment in time I will give Uber eats a mis.
I may be over exaggerating but please be safe people and stay in doors

Delivery is save I can't see the reason why ppl shouldn't use I use I always seen the driver using gloves

Well we can wash our hands, disinfect packaging.
We cant disinfect food that has been coughed on by a chef can we?
Yes it could be fine, but why risk it.
Was gonna use this offer last week. But It was still more expensive than going there myself 3.50 delviery plus the prices are almost doubled compared to in-store

Ordering takeaway food is fine as confirmed by the government who has said this method of acquiring food is more than acceptable as it poses just as much risk as the supermarket delivery method you seem to have no problem with.

You do not know more than our Chief Medical Officer. End of story.
Our systems are receiving high traffic

Yeah, looks like they’ve stopped working. Likely due to people abusing it.

It's funny because whilst searching for a code, I've managed to find and successfully apply codes for dollars, rupees, euros (but obviously can't use them in the UK because we pay in pounds). So the invite codes still work in other countries, just not in the UK! A bit weird!

What other apps check IMEI?

Quite a few people here say they do and I think the same as I've changed the name, email, phone number, card and didn't help. So must be something else! Presumably, IMEI.
