With google and others reducing their storage, it is possibly worth buying a cheap name and taking out a deal with unlimitedwebhosting if you have in excess of 100gb needs, or want to guarantee no compression or data loss in your pics.
Also worth noting that LCN are offering 2 x .co.uk and 2 x .uk domains free of charge for new sign ups, if you want to create a new deal for it ?

UK2 seems to be have removed from TCB. Mine didn't track had to raise a claim, What does this mean for payments?
I can't see any now
LOL, did you get the debt collection letters too? Been there, done that!
I haven't voted on this but given all the terms and conditions and potential for losing money through forgotten renewals, or hiked prices, and just loss of privacy giving your details to any service supplier, it's entirely ok for people to be sceptical of a "deal" that in the end is only offering a few quid saving, and most of that in cashback, in exchange for time and the potential negatives above. That's not to say this won't turn out to be a worthwhile hot deal for some people, but don't take it personally when people disagree for very legitimate reasons.
Don't forget to turn the auto-renewal off!

Register a .online domain for 99p at uk2.net£0.99
There seems to be a bit of a deal on at the moment with .online and .website domain names across quite a few domain registrars. I got a few emails from some web hosting companies o… Read more
The banners are only for the web diversion method aren't they? This seems to be more for re-directing to blog type sites, such as Wordpress. It says you can upgrade to non-banner version for a fee. Changing the nameservers is different (and free as far as I can tell). This is the method I would use, if I use GoDaddy.
No banner on any of my domains, and no sub domains. Proof?!
uk2.net are a **** ass company i use to work for them and can say your better off buying elsewhere they have the worst email system ever had to leave their too much headache because of problems
Go to http://nominet.org.uk and put your domain in their WHOIS box. If it says it yours, its yours, if it says it is not registered then anybody can register it.
Had endless trouble with UK2. Have moved elsewhere and will never go back.

AVOID UK2... proper internet cowboys. ]:whistling: i bought a domin from them but buried in the pages of small print is a clause that says you must display UK2 adverts on your site. there is no way to remove them. I had to transfer the domain and it cost me a fortune and a load of hassle. UK2 where horrible to deal with.
Keep away from UK2.
I'm looking to get my first domain name soon (.co.uk). Can anyone tell me of any traps to avoid?
mmm... was thinking of getting a domain name but will look elsewhere

There's alot of additional cost with uk2.net. The above package is for just 5 email forwards and webpage diversion with a great big uk2.net banner on the page. Catch all email is £4.99 a month More than 5 forward email addresses £1.42 a month Web diversion without banner £1.00 a month This is all included with 1and1 in the basic price ( includes 100 email forwards including a catch all ). All very expensive for anything but a very basic domain package.
Could you explain in a bit more detail what your problem was, I am thinking of getting a dedicated server and I have submitted a test support ticket which was answered in under 5 minutes. Thanks
I got this deal, and have the worst three days of my life dealing with this company. They even don't answer the 50p per minute telephone line!!! Avoid!!!
