If you sell the lens, it looks to be the cheapest you can get for body only. Many people have their own lenses, or would actually prefer to sell the lens included and buy a different one based on their needs.

allowed

Could you use it without a lens?

toaster

Big heavy body (1.017KG), big heavy, expensive and limited native lens selection, slow frame rate, AF that is the weakest of all the latest mirror-less full frame bodies particularly in video where it hunts, wobbles and can't track anything. Underwhelming battery life. Plenty of reasons why this camera hasn't sold well.

Godsnafu

Gotta agree, this is a step up from the A7III. Both are hybrid photo/video but the S1 video is head and shoulders above the A7III. This lens isn't much to write home about, but it's also not terrible as kit lenses go.

b4rny

Try unlimited recording time? 4K 10bit? Soon to be 5.9k pro res raw to atomos. Or 5.9k internal video. high res mode for stills. Image stabilisation that is miles better. Actually weather sealed Usable menu system stop me if I said too much already.....

That's me.

EGS

I'd stay away from this Camera, especially at this price. I have a few Panasonic M34 cameras and lenses and this is one of the worst models they've released in recent years. @Minstadave same one from OCUK? :)

dolanduck

M43's most impressive and key feature is the IBIS. Good move from Panasonic to take that away, introduce rubbish EIS, and a gimmicky Mic that most serious 'vloggers' would never even bother with. It's rare manufacturers release bad cameras these days. This is genuinely a bad camera. I've got to commend Panasonic for breaking new ground

Minstadave

I love my Panasonic cameras but this is a little half baked. Marketed as a vlogging camera but has no in body stabilisation, just electronic stabilisation which introduces cropping in 1080P video and quite significant cropping in 4K. Well detailed here: https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/panasonic-lumix-dc-g100-g110/2

review would probably be bit better if it had cost 3x less at the time, I did not buy it myself and don't earn commissions, am surprised it's been out since 2018

Since this shoots 1080p @60fps, why do folk not use the likes of this full setup for streaming ? Is it just because it's not advertised for streaming or what ? Hot, from what i can tell.

spinach_pie

The pocket just looks so damn cute I want it!

caparn1

The FeiyuTech RICCA definitely needs a gimbal or it's very shaky. But you could just buy a GoPro7 Black for about £200 with no gimbal and get better picture quality. RICCA V.S. GOPRO HERO 7 BLACK

AndrewRunagall

I am looking for something similar, but the deal breaker for me is that it only can record 4k footage at 30fps, I really would like 4k at 60fps (I know of the DJI Osmo Pocket, it's just a little outside my budget).

7day

Good price , Camera gets hot and you lose pixels...white spots. the 2 buttons on top are easily set to on so you will be shooting and not know ...very light touch starts it. You don’t swipe up or down etc as GoPro or dji. You do a circular movement to use the screen and need small finger or it goes wrong .. looks good though. Gimbal is fine.

Very tempted at this price.

spinach_pie

It was such a good deal and looking at eBay second hand prices, they stay strong for a long time if you changed your mind in future.

marks

Was not my original plan as I was going to get a Sony full frame camera as I already has some full frame lens for an older Sony Amount camera that recently died so got the olympus when it came up as wanted something small, light and cheap but then got a stonking deal on the a6300. So yes is slight odd to have 2 different systems and only planning to have one lens for the Olympus or might sell it. Just see how it goes.

toaster

Two incompatible systems seems an odd decision, why not just buy the compact E 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS for your A6300 to make a superb travel kit? The A6300 is lighter and smaller than the Olympus E-M10 III

marks

I have not used it properly yet as I have a Sony A6300 as my main camera and got the Olympus purely as a travel camera, yes I got the deal that was direct with Olympus which had the twin lens bundle whihc was a steal at £399.

Okay Thanks for the help

Minstadave

M43 is really good for birding, long lenses aren't ginormous and can be hand held due to the decent IBIS.

RaiKush

From my experience I have loved Sony & Nikon. I do have a Lumix G90 which I haven't got to opening. It also depends what you want....if you're into wildlife, you would generally want something with fast tracking. I am still learning all this photography stuff ans I am loving it. I find myself birding a lot.

NAJ22

I used a Canon EOS 5D Mark II and I loved them. But I’m looking for one suites for a beginner starting. Any recommendations?

The G80 is a slightly better camera than the GX80. It has a better electronic viewfinder but its bigger (this improves ergonomics though).

Really good deal. V happy with mine. I paid about 100 quid more than this last November, albeit with both this lens and the 12-60mm kit lens included.

The G9 doesn't have a flash right?

nicwatson11

Just upgraded last month to the G9, however I still love my G7, built like a tank and with the samyang 7.5 gives me a nice small work tool. Shot on a G7 in March https://coshabang.s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/index.htm

Castle cameras has the G80 for 499 castlecameras.co.uk/panasonic-dmc-g80-12-60-black/p3900 £40 saving. Still a saving. Also Park Cameras have it too

sashforth

G80 is definitely the better camera but I haven't found it for less than £539 for the same kit. Is it worth the extra £140 or is there a better price out there for the G80 (UK dealers only)

Besford

Any thoughts on Lumix G7 vs the Olympus system?
