Was it still under warranty?
Yes, but due to a disability, I rely on my laptop too much to send it away.

I would be wary of buying another Lenovo product and even more unlikely to take advantage of any warranties they offer.

I bought a Yoga 720 from them and upgraded to an on-site warranty to avoid having to send it away in the event of a problem. The item developed a fault with the screen (well, I think it shipped with a fault - its connection was dodgy) and I (eventually) managed to arrange to have an engineer visit to fit a replacement screen.

Unfortunately, the "Lenovo Engineer" was just a sub-contractor and was not particularly familiar with the model in question (he also worked on other brands).

As such, he did not follow the full instructions for disassembly (despite my protestations) and the result was that the old screen was pretty much "torn" out from its housing - resulting in shards of shattered screen spraying across my living room. I was far from impressed and was left with quite the cleanup task!

In fairness, the laptop has cotinued to function since that incident (I am typing on it now), but it was sufficiently offputting that I don't know that I would risk them again - and I certainly wouldn't go for the warranty (it doesn't help that the reseller and warranty provider seem to be effectively different companies).

Obviously, mine is just a single experience amongst many, so it is far from representative. I am sure others rate Lenovo more highly than I do.

I have 5 Lenovo, 3 Asus, 2 HP laptops - Asus rog laptops batteries died within first 2 years but rest of them fine.
I had another Lenovo before this one and the battery didn't last long on that one. It was longer than 10 - 11 months though.
I just will not even consider Lenovo again in the future.
Don't work on Lenovo V155-15API either

Who would people say is the best laptop manufactureer as i have been told bad things about all of them so far
I haven't had any issues with Dell before and have had a refurbished laptop last 10years and still going with no repairs.
After reading poor lenovo quality things on here i'd never buy from them even if there was a good looking deal tbh.
Bad news travels further though, so I do take things with some added salt :P
