I did live chat them about it. They just said they "might" be out of stock. I can guarantee they are back online the minute the discount ends!

It’s evident that you don’t, directing people to apply for credit for a one off retail purchase to obtain a paltry discount, to then close the account again, is bad advice. In fact, it’s not even advice, it’s I’ll thought out. There are people on here who might act on that in good faith, without being fully aware of the consequences, behaviours like this can have ramifications further down the line when the person really NEEDS credit eg with mortgage applications.
