Looks a good deal considering works on top of any existing offers e.g. kids go free in School Holidays https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/2-kids-per-adult-travel-free-during-the-school-holidays-on-isle-of-wight-ferries-wightlink-kids-under-4-bikes-go-free-3233342 Heat added @idontflycathay
I had seen this in the e-mail, cracking bonus on top of whatever 'deal' you can get.....can't see why it's so cold?
What is wet and steaming and comes out of Cows?

Any deals by car for August or begining of September please ?
If you're taking a car then this offer might help, but it's only valid for the next 2 weekends by the looks of it - https://www.wightlink.co.uk/go/discounts/50-weekend-day-returns/
I did have a caravan in Shanklin a few years ago but the isle has changed so much and become so commercialised we stopped going and sold the van. Red Funnel will take you and your car with 3 more passengers...for a ridiculouse price.. its the most expensive ferry in the world..mile for mile. GREEDY FERRY COMPANY'S RUIN A TRIP THERE NOW
If anyone's interested & it helps, we took our 3 kids a few years back & spent 8 days. Boy 13, Girl 9, Girl 5. Some tips to investigate further: Try & time it to go over during Garlic Festival week. That's brilliant & kids will love it. Older will like the IOW festival or Cowes week, but gets busy. Shanklin is nice but go to Sandown beach instead. Perfect sun bathing, sea, rock shop & ice creams. Yarmouth is a pretty fishing villiage - we went deep sea fishing from there & by fluke was out in the middle of the Solent during the Round the World Clipper race & had hundreds of clippers including Sir Ben Ainslie sail past us. Quick trip from there to the Needles & bit of a kids funfair, skyride to the beach & glass blowing for the adults. Fort is free too. All walking distance. South is Blackgang, & Blackgang Chine with fun park based around dinosaurs & wild West Village. Need to drive or bus it. Cowes is the main town closest town in the North but for little kids I'd not bother. There's a model village in the middle of the island & zoo too (Amazon world - near to the Garlic festival). Ryde is a nice, busy town & fun to see the hovercraft coming & going. Nice town, bit hilly, but plenty of shops. As others have said, TripAdvisor or Google are good places to start research. We took the car & glad we did, but I hear the buses are OK but pricey. We stayed right by Sandown Airport so watched the airshow on the weekend we were there. If you check calendars on various island websites, there's often loads to do, but takes a bit of researching time. Have fun!
Go to the needles. Chairlift is nice and few rides for kids

Just got back from the day out.Am in the £9 travelodge now.We were first car on the ferry going out,and were let on the earlier one coming back.Good service!
Hi yeah we are going as a group of four, were not fussed about being late night, doubt we'll sleep much throughout the whole weekend! Looking forward to the Festival, well sleep when we get back! Came in at less than £40 incl return trip. Split four ways = good times!
Good price. Also, often it can be cheaper to buy two day return tickets rather than a 7 day return for example, so have a look at that if you are planning on staying a few days.
too late for what? :whistling:

Sandown for a great beach and lots of family things to do near by. Ryde also has a great beach but gets hectic at night. Amazon World, The Zoo (use tesco deals) are great, Ventnor Botantical Garden free (i think..) with a pretty walk down to the beach. The Train at Haven Street is fun, but Brickfields was disappointing. Yarmouth has some great resturants, On the Rocks is great. Cowes during Cowes Weeks is an experanice, although rather boozy, The Festival and Bestival are amazing. Worst experiance was Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park, so I wouldn't recommend and Alum Bay is cheesy but OK if you use tesco deals instead of real money Overall IOW is great with great people, such a shame the ferry compainies are exploiting their position
hey thinking of going to isle of wight for holiday with kids. Has anyone got any good ideas about where to stay/what to do?
Say hello to David Icke for me!!
should be a fiver all the time wightlink and red funnel are both tuck ups, you can get flights to other countries cheaper than it is to take a car across a small stretch of water. Good deal for a few days tho
I though the Chain Ferry was the most expensive stretch of water to cross (especially when the tide's out!) http://www.iwight.com/council/departments/engineering_services/transport_fleet/cowes_chain_ferry/farecate.asp ex-Islander.
