Zavvi have massively fu*ked up, break people’s dreams of winning a vip trip & 15% off as a gesture of good will and it doesn’t even include preorders, I was on cloud nine when I received my e-mail, just to have it swept away, what a joke
That is big of them. They email all their mailing list telling them all that they have won Champions League Final tickets, flights, hotel, etc then offer a poxy 15% off to say sorry.
Really funny to see desperate people trying to milk a genuine mistake so that the company goes bankrupt.

Not the biggest Zavvi fan.
(Their inflated RRP’s definitely contravene a trade description act).
They’ve made mistakes. You’ve made mistakes. No need to take them to the cleaners over it.

15% off is better than a kick in the knackers.
It’s going mental on Twitter. People exclaiming “my son is crying because of you. I’m going to sue you” and would quite happily see a company go bankrupt so they can feel better about themselves. It was a human error. It’s a shame. I was also disappointed. But it’s not worth shouting and crying over and making far fetched demands. It’s a sad way of life we live in that people expect major financial gain for people’s minor mistakes.

Yup, I was looking forward to going...
Liverpool fan here who bought some Star Wars Blu-Ray’s the day before the competition ended with a MasterCard! Thought I was in for a moment! Gutted

Me too
This is ELITE level trolling by Zavvi.

First the email for tickets to the final, then this master stroke of offering 15% off.

Absolutely next level trolling. I for one applaud it.
I won tickets to the champs league final yessssss.... Oh wait.
I was gutted, and then a slap across the face with a poxy 15% off. Get you act together Zavvi.
I was proper excited haha, even asked my dad if he could cover grandma care for the weekend. I was keen just to go to Madrid for free, probably would have skipped the football match
I love that so many people thought they had won a competition they hadn't entered. I thought it was a phishing scam to be honest. This was a muck up, but it happens.

There is no way they were going to offer anything more than a discount code.

This will help me get over the emotional trauma of this morning where I thought I was going to Madrid for a solid 10 minutes.

Know something was up since I don't have a Mastercard

Did a disgruntled employee do it?

So a bunch of people thought they'd won a competition they never even entered... and I get 15% off? Winning!
This could be great for their cheap 4k prices.

So this I get. You followed the rules, you ticked all the boxes. I think people in your situation should get a little something more. They could never afford to give everyone something big. It would bankrupt them, but I do feel for you.
Appallingly pathetic response from Zavvi, especially as this code can be used by ANY customer, even if they weren't affected by the mistaken prize announcement.

Yeah they are looking for a better deal, fairplay but accidents happen. To be honest, I bet you that ripped in you 2 when they said it was a mistake. But at the end of the day, it's just a laugh. Laugh about it

Right in the kisser! You may as well go book it yourself and go have a great time! Zavvi messed up but now you should think about going anyway with your fam or something 🌞 make something good of it!
Has there been a response or official statement (apart from a deleted tweet) from Zavvi stating that this code is to apologise? I mean come on......if they can do something so stupid, why would I want to shop there and enter my payment details. They can stick their 15%.

It's quite simply to say 'Sorry.....we dropped the ball and made a huge human error'. That is all that is required.
Just had this email from Zavvi:

Hello
Thank you for contacting Zavvi regarding The UEFA Champions League Final competition.

Sorry if you received the email from us this morning congratulating you on winning tickets.

Unfortunately, this email was sent in error and we are very sorry. There is only one official winner who will be contacted separately.

Regards,
Zavvi Customer Service Team
15% after that, amusing (mind, I wasn’t in the competition)

I disagree its funny for some its heartbreaking once in a lifetime bucket list thing they had been given.

Also it really isnt hard not to send wrong emails, they've sent wrong emails before so not a one off. all they needed was another person to check before sending. Mistakes like this shouldn't just happen.

Also some would question the response time from them, trying to make money from the customers they duped, and some would argue even though its negative any brand recognition will be good for the company long term.

Although having said that i would still buy from them if they were cheaper than others.
I'll pay 15% extra after what they did to Liverpool fans
I got the apology email from zavvi but no mention whatsoever of this 15% off. Slow clap zavvi, slow clap.
Seriously zavvi can go do one. After the excitement I had. It was heartbreaking to find out it wasn’t true. 15% is a kick in the teeth. Pretty sure the terms and conditions didn’t have a clause that said they could withhold the prize. I expect someone will likely go deeper and end up taking them to court etc.
As a Man Utd fan i dont know which was worse seeing Liverpool and Spurs reach the final or being told that i have won tickets to watch them... Hmmm the 15% off is looking good right now

Yes they sent another email out saying it was a mistake.

As for the other bit, use Paypal.

If every time you were told something false got you compensation, our government would be scraping around for the last few pennies.
Liverpool fans are the very worse people they could have done this to though, not going to let it lie are they?
So have the prices gone up 15% too since yesterday?

When I got the e mail my first thought was I didn't enter this competition it must be spam so didnt do anything then seen the "outrage" on twitter later on
Disgusting. They have better discounts naturally. What a scam. Giving a Holiday worth about 10K and replacing it with 15% off; what a joke.
