Should I cancel my John Lewis order due to be delivered on Friday and save £200ish? I need to wall mount the TV, and JL offers free wall mounting. Anyone knows how much it would normally cost to ask a third party to do that? Also JL's warranty is 5 years with labor and parts, while LG is for panel only as far as I understand?
    Calumt's avatar
Lg have increased it to p and l with d and g. But tbh if you don't need the 200 now jl customer service and warranty is a million times better... also it would cost 100 or more for quality wall hanging

Do people buy these for gaming in mind since it’s 120hz? That must look good nice to be gaming in 4k at high refresh on a 77” oled. I would like it, what pc do you need though to play that settings

Currently the 4K 120Hz is head room for future proofing.

Only lower resolutions like 1080P or 1440P is what most majority can run at 120Hz which this TV supports those resolution.

No PC can run 4K 120Hz at AAA titles other than the insanely expensive RTX 4090, which even that struggles.

PS5 & Xbox SeriesX, you’re looking to lower the graphical settings and/or resolution to get over 100Hz as they run between 30-70 FPS at 4K.

    Thank you OP ordered.
Potentially silly question but I saw 50% off soundbars as well, but didn't add one. Would this sort of high TV need a soundbar?
    Rev0Knuckle's avatar
I've got the TV (picked up on the previous deal) and run full surround sound but I did try the TV speakers just out of curiosity.

I would say the sound is decent, certainly not bad. If you're not already used to a soundbar or full surround system then you'll be plenty happy enough.

Do you think RicherSounds Price Match this Discount if I gave them the code?
    I have a voucher for around £740.
I could put towards this, the G3 or the 42"C3 if the code can be used against them.
Wonder if they will just accept code over the phone that is generated or ask for more details about the card?
    Tarlok_Kharpal's avatar
I asked earlier today and they want proof of BLC membership, which I can provide. They will not offer the 6 year warranty though if they price match this tv and only give 12 months unfortunately.

    Thank you OP.
Bought the G2 65 about a month ago for £1100 and returned it because lg reduced the price by £100. A few weeks after I attempted to buy the G2 77 when it was on offer for about £1800 but missed the offer. Super chuffed it all went tits up and I get to bag this at £1567.

I've not been closely following the price on the 77 but this looks like a cracking deal. If I had a room big enough to move my recently purchased 65 in to I would be buying this. (edited)

this is one crazy good price, it is currently sitting in my basket and I am scratching my head haha

Just cancelled my order wit John Lewis. Saving £200!!! Thanks for posting

Do we think the price will fall anymore? (edited)
    KendallC's avatar
Who knows? I wouldn't be at all surprised to see LG bring back the additional 10% discount deal at some point but there's no telling what the pre-code price may be at the point they do that. With the 65 there was a point where the 10% was active, BLC or similar could be applied and the G2 was at it's lowest pre code price. If the same happens at any point with the 77 then some people are going to end up with a fantastic bargain. (edited)

That’s 150 smackers cheaper than previously good deal that was here. Upgraded from bx panel, brightness is something that I’m still getting used to.
very good deal. Poorly recorded material will show blurry part on that size of a screen. Reflections can still be an issue with this panel in bright rooms. Apart from that newer models not worth the premium they are asking

I'm so glad the price of TV's have come down compared to what they used to be.

Fair play to the manufacturers in Far East for not being greedy and providing tech to us at affordable prices.

    Wowser!

    Order placed!!!

I missed out on the Easter offer when they had the additional 10% on top of BLC 20%. Back then member 5% was also stacking for me and it all came to a little over £1700.

So glad it's dropped to this now.
    Cheers OP!
  27. hairywaynus's avatar
Thanks OP, will look lovely in my downstairs loo.

I bought this in easter as part of the £1714 deal. Frustratingly I got rid of the box 2 days ago, so now can no longer return and re-buy.

i’m thinking now if I could buy this, then return the exact same package but under the other order number. I assume the box will have a specific serial number on it but does anyone think they would care???
    jerrysimon's avatar
Seems like a lot of hassle the s/n on the box matches the Tv one. Maybe just enjoy an amazing Tv
  29. Hunterx878's avatar
I get the begging that goes on in here, but if someone happens to have a BLC that they are not using, would they mind sharing it? Thanks anyway.
  30. Jamj1011's avatar
I’m receiving ‘having a coupon error’ when using the welcome code and perks at work. Anyone figured a workaround?

    thanks
    KendallC's avatar
Is that the 5% new member code? If so they never seem to stack. (edited)
  31. GazyRosc's avatar
Anyone have a BLC code I can use for this?

I've just been to Costco where I compared the OLED offerings of Samsung, Sony and LG. The LG offerings all looked so bad compared to both Sony and Samsung offerings, but the comparison isn't fair because they all play different demo videos. The demo video on LG has some bouncing balls with very obvious motion blur... is it just a bad demo, bad settings, or is the tv really so bad like that compared to the competition?
    eas4uk's avatar
The majority of online reviews will tell you that LG oleds certainly stands up to Sony, Panasonic and Samsung offerings, most in fact use LG panels. CostCo isnt the best place to demo these screens. Find a local independent where you can properly view them, in a similar environment as that you will have at home to properly judge. (edited)
  33. ross_malyon's avatar
good price obviously but something deep inside makes me think, do i want to buy a TV that has 2 new versions? its an amazing set but for the money are we better off getting a "lower" spec 2024 TV, HDR 10+ and more brightness are available as standard now for fairly cheap
    eas4uk's avatar
The improvements each year are marginal at best. This was the flagship LG oled in 2022. If you consider the saving on what the 2024 G4 77" model will cost, is the marginal improvement, which *most people would really notice worth the extra £££ - probably not... The only concern I would have is at what point the TV apps stopped being updated. This is offset by actually thinking not to use the TVs own smart features and using Nvidia Shield/Apple TV or similar so not relying on LG to continually update it.
  34. danielwarelow's avatar
I have the 65" version and best set I have ever owned, tempted on going the next size up :-)
  35. d10brp's avatar
I've just bought a 77" S92C from Costco this week, but returning it and getting this for a £300 saving seems like a no-brainer.

The only issue is the warranty. The 2-5th year warranty is panel only, so doesn't cover the electronics or the labour to fit the new panel. I say this having just had a LG E7 die on me (looks like the main board failed)
    webb204's avatar
Not a move I would do ,the S92C is the better tv
  36. robert_adamson's avatar
I bought one of these few weeks ago is there any way of getting a partial refund from lg after price drop
    KendallC's avatar
No. Believe me I tried! I had to return for refund and buy again. I contacted them 13 days after delivery though. Not sure if it would be so easy after a few weeks but I believe someone else on here managed it so maybe worth a shot.
