Our 2020 qe65q85r 65\" QLED bought from Richer Sounds has developed rapid screen flickering which is very apparent on HDR content and occurs roughly every 1min. Having tried everything, I called under the Richer Sounds 5yr warranty, they initially said they would replace the screen, now they are offering to replace it with this model: QE65QN85CATXXU
Our TV came with a One Connect box and at the time it was one below the flagship model the Q90R. I'm not sure how QE65QN85CATXXU stacks up against the model we currently have. I went down to Currys to have a look at one they have on display and the picture quality didn't look great. The main thing, there no longer appears to be a One Connect box. I bought this TV specifically as it had the One connect box, it makes life so much easier to easily connect wires - satellite cables, hdmi cables all neatly tucked away.
Any thoughts on whether this the correct replacement model?
Alternatively they have offered £600 cash, I paid £1600 at the time.
Thanks for your advice.","comment":[{"@type":"Comment","@id":"https://www.hotukdeals.com/comments/permalink/51397776","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"C0mm0d0re_K1d"},"datePublished":"2023-11-10T05:01:44.000Z","text":"Your qe65q85r 65 is actually a 2019 model. The QE65QN85C Is a current 2023 model, and is better in most respects.
They both have VA panels, but the QN85C is a neo qled with mini led backlight and full array local dimming with 720 zones.
The q85r is only a qled with older direct LED backlight. It does support full array local dimming, but only has 96 zones.
The QN85C also has a newer soc, probably faster, possibly more ram and storage? 4 x Hdmi 2.1, more connections, Supports more video modes, has newer WiFi, OS, apps, support etc.
I could go on, but you can compare the two side by side on display specifications here - displayspecifications.com/en/…a30

Also, are you certain you saw the exact same model number in Currys?"},{"@type":"Comment","@id":"https://www.hotukdeals.com/comments/permalink/51398102","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Mark_Hickman"},"datePublished":"2023-11-10T07:21:39.000Z","text":"They're offering you a big upgrade besides it not having the one connect box, id take it"},{"@type":"Comment","@id":"https://www.hotukdeals.com/comments/permalink/51397844","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Moss.b"},"datePublished":"2023-11-10T06:12:03.000Z","text":"Check which model up has one connect box? My old Samsung KS9000 had a one connect box, I don't missing to be honest.
I was reading a few days ago that there is an issue with the S95C with gaming dropouts so you should becareful if you game on it and it maybe the one connect box being the issue.

The S95C has a One Connect box! so will try for this as One Connect box is quite important to me and the setup I have.
The QN85C is missing an anti-reflective coating, , have read one user on here who bought 65QN85C complain about motion blur, which I think on OLEDs suffers less from. Motion blur is a real pet peeve, esp when watching fast action movies."}],"commentCount":22,"interactionStatistic":9,"articleSection":"Ask"}
