Monitor or small tv for xbox x

My son currently has a monitor for his Xbox x but it doesn’t have speakers or an aux port. He hates headphones and won’t wear them. How else can he get sound with no delay? Would a small tv be better ? If so any recommendations.. to fit on a gaming desk.
