    I don't think they ever did... anybody in his right senses that wants to buy usb 3/usb 4/thunderbolt-esque cables for under a fiver needs his or her head checked

    yes, with apple MacBook ARM chipsets... but why spend twice when you can just go for 100w cables that will fast charge (with appropriate FC bricks).

    Odd, these don't seem to charge my S8+ tablet at 'Super Fast" speeds... - using a 65w UGreen charger, which charge all my other tech at top speed using my other UGreen/Baseus cables.

    that's weird cos it's rated 3A and should be able to do SFC at least, with any Samsung device that can handle 45w charging
