Would anyone recommend the Samsung A series over this? They seem to be similar priced.

Samsung A all day long..Simply because you will have 4/5 years of android updates compared to motorolla 1 year

Have had this one for a few months now. Hardware is ok for the price just don't expect updates or you'll have a long wait regardless what Motorola promises.

Don't Motorola just use standard android updates?

How does this stack up against the Redmi Note 13 4G 8GB+256GB.

Ive currently got a Realme6 - had it for 2 years and its been perfect. I do a mix of gaming and taking photos mainly. and Web browsing. Battery has been going south now for a few months so looking to replace and ive just put a new screen protector on and notice the screen is coming away from the body so i now need to upgrade sooner rather than later.

I live out in the sticks with no 5G coverage so that isnt a factor. Ive never used 5G.

Any advice around the sub £200 budget greatly appreciated .

    Thanks (edited)

    Pretty similar tbh.

AMOLED on the xiaomi, and on paper a better camera may make the xiaomi the winner

moto has better software and processor

Just a note as it wasn't clear to me, you have to select the free screen cover from the product page, then add the phone to the basket (the cover should then appear in your basket).

Important point. I missed that when I ordered my Motorola (another model) and consequently no cover.
I take solace in thinking it's a marketing gimmick because I don't think anything untoward is going to happen in a year!

Would the redmi note 12 not be better?

I'd be sold if it was an OLED panel

Just got this from the Lenovo site for £142 using Blue Light card, which included an extra £2 off for loyalty points. Seems a good phone for the money.

Would the 1 year screen cover via OP have been a wiser choice?
