Same at Toolstation and Screwfix, normal price

They've dropped in price this week at Screwfix. I was going to pick one up last week but it was £142 - £149 for black or white models respectively. It's not listed as a sale price so could just be the new pricing levels, but still, glad I couldn't decide on which colour last week as it saved me £50 + a £15 plumbfix voucher came through too, so winner!

Tado lured me in with cheap starter kit, and over the years, I spent money on TRV for the whole house, then additional thermostats. I wonder how long it will take before I actually start saving any money.

What's your review all these years later. More so just on the thermostat?

Do you have the monthly plan?

How do you find you end up using it? Just to control heating remotely, or is it smart enough to work around your comings and goings?

I wish they'd actually put this on a deal. £99 is pricey, and normal. Sub £80 and I'd bite

Don't. Got left without heating when it suddenly stopped working.

Had a 2 month old at home and no way to contact them directly to get it rectified.

Awesome piece of kit, mine did stop working however it was just the power supply to the internet bridge which I fixed using an old mobile phone charger.

I don't pay any monthly fee, I just control via mobile phone and turn the heating on a few hours before I leave work if it is needed.

Toolstation was selling them for this for a while. Manual was wrong regarding change of boiler type tho. Allegedly you can use app to set it up now. Apart from that all seems to be working well with mine unit.
it does seem to report open window or door very consistently- hook line and sinker for paid subscription part.

Open Window isn't part of the paid subscription unless they have changed it, no point in paying monthly.

Great piece of kit, we have this with a TRV in every room and it is saving us a fortune!

Only go for this if you have an opentherm compatible combi boiler and your installer knows how to wire it up to utilise that feature

Otherwise you are just paying for a wireless switch that will not really provide any significant savings without some discomfort

If you don’t have an opentherm combi look into your boiler manufacturers own controls which will offer intelligent weather / load compensation, which if wired in correctly and provide significant savings (edited)

I disagree I have an old Ideal conventional boiler and this Tado starter kit is perfect, it just replaces my wall Honeywell thermostat in the hall and controls my heating.

Being able to turn the heating on and off while not at home is a huge saving in my experience. (edited)
