Already on a 30-day contract with Talk Mobile, anybody know how easy they’ll make it to transfer to the better tariff? Like, do you have to be a ‘new’ customer?

Go via live chat, I find them to be very accommodating unlike 0 2 who will be all smoke and mirrors with any deals you might see elsewhere.

For the record I have had had both networks running now for over 18months. I prefer talkmobile. Now that 0 2 perks has slowly whittled down to just priority concert tickets, I will probably move fully over to talk mobile. (edited)

Is it same as Lebara, moved from voda to Lebara temporarily but found it horrible no conference calling, data drops, call quality rubbish

You might find this handy. It shows what providers offer what services, if you are looking for advanced features like conference calling - This is not a very standard feature and very few offer it.

TalkMobile is owned by Vodafone as their budget brand. After 1 week of service, as long as you have a supported device you'll get access to VoLTE which means you'll have HD Calling without dropping data. However they (and many others) Don't offer conference calling. There's a lot of similarities between TalkMobile and Lebara but they aren't quite the same.

As for data dropping out, this is a common issue across Vodafone in general since the 3G Switch off on their network a short while back. Things didn't go as smoothly as they hoped. A lot of work needs to be done to optimise the network as a 4G LTE Base standard, rather than relying on 2G as the go-to fallback option. They aren't keen to spend too much money on changing things at the moment as the merger with Three is still hanging in the balance and the final decision on the approval of this will make a huge difference to what happens next.

You may want to consider moving away from Vodafone's network infrastructure entirely for the time being if this is affecting you a lot where you are.

Not sure why you'd go for this with only 5GB to use in the EU, when Lebara are offering 15GB (all usable for roaming) for 90 pence a month! Unless you really don't need more/are getting cashback on this deal. Lebara also runs on Vodafone so coverage will be the same.

With Talkmobile, I cannot use my mobile data during a phone call. Does anyone come across the same issue?

It sounds like you don't have VoLTE Working. You're either on an unsupported phone, or have had your account for less than a week.

If you pay attention to what the top of the screen says, I assume when you make a call right now your signal drops down to 2G?
