Enough Overthinking: 11 Insane Ways Overthinking Can Affect Your Health, Destroy Your Happiness … – and How to Neutralize It Kindle Edition

Overthinking pulls you inward, draining the energy you need for the world outside — for relationships, hobbies, and tasks that have nothing to do with your worries. It becomes a relentless critic, undermining your confidence, shaking your self-esteem, and clouding your decision-making abilities

The author's excessive use of religious quotes throughout the book was off-putting and distracting. I was seeking practical strategies grounded in psychology and science, not a preachy sermon. It felt like the author was trying to push a particular religious agenda rather than providing valuable advice on overcoming overthinking

I wouldn't be so quick to write off scripture verses in this area . Many don't contradict psychology.
The bible taught about the power of forgiveness in healing, millenia before psychology worked that out
(I have an honours degree in Psychology and I only say that to show I have some background in this)
The author was probably helped by these verses and wanted to help others
If it's not for you then it's not for you but it's free so you lost nothing

When every chapter is preceeded by a quote from the Bible, I would be wary of where it's leading to.

That would be me out straight away.
Sorry religious people, but I believe in physics not contradictory mumbo jumbo.

Seems like this book could lead to you overthinking about your overthinking…

If you don’t actually overthink and only think that you do then it seems like this book by definition will make you do it insofar that you will think more about the things you already think about. (edited)

11 insane ways... "INSANE ways?" Hyperbolic book titles do the opposite to me what they're aiming to. Immediate loss of credibility, I'd only assume the author is 19 without a psychology degree, but 3 of the 5 reviews are also 1*, saying it's filled with religious brainwashing. The 50 ratings have been farmed somehow. Used hyperdermic needles washed up on the beach are free to take home too folks

I'd say most of us need to do a little more of the right type of thinking. Be mindful, develop a daily practice of watching the rise and fall of emotions and thoughts and realise we don't need to be identified with them. I'd recommend the waking up app as an invaluable resource of guided lessons and meditations. It is free to anyone who needs it and cannot afford to pay for it.

It's really bizarre to me how many people think this way

I am definitely an over-thinker, but allow me to save you some time.

After a lot of thought, my (rational) conclusion was that I do not want or need this.

So, if you really want to stop overthinking, close this thread & simply enjoy the rest of your day.

    Good luck!
