For those of you on the current Free CCNA they are running which finishes this Friday will know how good these courses are. Very detailed, not what you would expect from free. I have been attending most sessions when I can, have been very busy at work so I don’t always get the chance to watch them all live.

Like I said in a previous post is that ordinarily this would cost you hundreds of quid for a full CCNA course taught by a qualified Cisco instructor...so first off its a cracking deal.

Second, we all gotta start somewhere. The CCNA Security I have already taken and it s a good qual to have, even thought I have the CCNA Security under my belt I have already registered for this course.

I believe that this course will be free to register for the time being, but they did mention on one of the sessions that they will introduce a registration fee soon, so get on it before they do.
Enjoy guys! And keep the heat coming!

I missed 2 on the CCNA due to other commitments. He never mentioned it. If it's just the one you are missing, I doubt they'll mind.

I've setup my work's network and setup new PC's etc but don't have an in depth knowledge of the backend of the networking side of things and don't want to waste anyones time before signing up.

You'd be better waiting for the next CCNA course that'll probably start in a couple of months. CCNA Security expands on some areas covered in the basic CCNA/CCENT & adds new stuff. Before attending, I'd recommend reading up on CCNA to get a basic understanding, or some of the more complex parts could go over your head. Good luck

The exams cans be booked via the site Pearson VUE. You'll also have to set-up a free account with Cisco to get a student number from them. Once you set that up, you can search locally for testing sites near you & book a date/time.

The CCNA is pretty tough, basic networking won't suffice BUT the official books do walk you thorugh everything step by step.
Do you know what subnetting is? For most people this is the hardest thing to learn along with route summarisation.

I've taken a course with these guys and they are awesome, can't rate them high enough.
Will take another one once I've got to grips with the CCNA

well, it depends... employers want papers for EVERYTHING even cleaning lady should hold a uni degree nowdays so it is only wise to do the free course and then do the exam when it is on offer (then you only pay for exam not for course) and ta-da you got a paper for employer.. of course u have to know that stuff but you will have something to prove it with...(along with the knowledge)

depends on perspective, Personally the CCNA was the hardest hurdle as the concepts are completely new and there are so many of them! The CCNP on the otherhand is where you start to expand on what you have learnt previously.

Nice attitude...... Where as my situation currently is the more certs, the more i get paid. I wont say its easy to find a job, Even if you obtain your CCNA, you wont be expected to go and run a data center like people presume, you may end up doing basic networking for a year or so, but its all about building up that CV and moving onto the next thing. Dont stop trying to improve or ill tune in to watch you on benefit streets

Excellent teaching so far, learnt alot and will also be attending the security course. The manuals + videos are also good value.

Depends on the role you are going for, I recruited a junior tech last year, lots of people had experience and career history, but one young lad had done lots of night classes, some of which good some irrelevant, but it showed he was keen to learn and improve out of hours.

Lots of people looking for few roles, sometimes it's a little something like this that secures a role

Yes, i know, the reason they gave was that the instructor that was to be teaching the course was going to be too busy with other projects to run the free course.

Ultimately, if they run it you get a great course for free that's a bonus, if they don't what have you lost?

I am on their current Free CCNA and i have nothing but good things to say.

Doing the CCNA with Joe at the moment. Awesome course! Much recommended and really can't beat FREE!
  17. deleted477419's avatar
I'm working on both the CCNA and CCNP courses, am also enrolled for this. Can't beat instruction from someone who knows and understands everything about the subject, with worked examples and Q&A with the instructor, over the Cisco manuals any day. Can't recommend these courses enough

Well worth keeping an eye on Commsupport's website as Joe's indicated there will be more courses coming in the future, and I believe the CCNA's going to be rerun soon

I'm currently doing the last week of the base CCNA course and have to say they are good. especially as it's for free. I managed to get my work to stump the cash up for the manuals too, but if you're paying attention, Joe the instructor gives you everything in an easy to understand format. Recommended. Also, don't just sign up and forget to attend. These lessons are costing the guys time and money.

Dammit - I signed up and then realised it wasn't a re-run of the CCNA.
I was signed up to that and then they cancelled it.

I'm already signed up. I'm on the CCNA course at the moment after seeing that posted here months ago. So glad I did it. Yes, it's late at night but when it isn't costing you anything but your time then it is well worth it. Also, it is run by a great group of guys who are always happy to help. As moore_mat says though, don't sign up and then not turn up. They assign licenses to everyone who joins and only have a limited number before they have to buy more.

'm on CCNA & CCNP Joe is excellent, he knows his stuff, currently he is running CCNA 9.30-1100pmM-F BUT IT RUNS TO 11.15, Then he runs CCNP 11.30-1am M-W so without much break He is on line for some 3.5hrs live course.... All is FREE. If you want you can buy the recorded video's along with lab work materials for just £85 or just the video's for £35. Joe is not a pressure salesman to sell these materials. I don't know how he does it..... One motto of theses guys are to make more cisco pro's.

They are also planning to run Microsoft courses later subject to finding some good to be top their standard.

    I've also joined this course.

Do you get a certificate at the end of the course.....

if this is a LOL then ok, otherwise wake up you are getting a course which some are charging upto £800 for a pre-recorded be it you can get them on deals site with 90% reduction scams

This courses are live and you get to communicate with instructors, and in our case Joe is there for extra 15-30min afterwards to answer questions and joke around with students......... not only that you can get email support through out the course. Also I heard yesterday that someone passed CCNA after 5days of Joes course. Considering how much you can earn after getting CCNA paying just for the exams are drop in an ocean. Then if you work HARD really HARD and get CCNP!! WOW how much you can earn.... with these guys I think there are far more Cisco graduates than I can imagine.

Currently enrolled on the CCNA course which is nearly ending. The people behind this are awesome, and the live sessions are great, especially for those that do not like prerecorded stuff. You can ask questions during the session just like in a normal class room and also at the end Joe spends an extra half an hour chatting with us answering all questions.

Like others have said, you can buy the workbooks, including labs that you can work on to improve the practical side of things, plus all the previous classes he's done for that course. So if you miss a lesson or want to go over something you missed, the classes will be available.

I signed up last week. Also currently doing the CCNA. Sheesh, I've spent 5 weeks online with some of you guys above! Great course, great training company & all round nice guy. Anyone in the London area that wants to attend a class based CCNA course, this is a company to try. If like me, you're too far away, this is a great alternative. Only down side is Joe is sometimes naked while presenting, (this part may not be true).

As others have said, don't sign up if you can't put in the time. He's a small company so the overhead of having to pay for people that don't turn up will end up forcing him to charge a small fee. I'd bought official CCNA material before I started this course, so didn't buy the course material & didn't feel excluded or pressured. I'll probably buy the Security stuff though as I've not got that.

I have been on many different CCNA courses in the past and this is by far one of the best courses of study I attended with Joe for the last 5 weeks. He makes things uncomplicated to understand and his way of teaching is superior to others, I would 100% definitely recommend this course with Joe to any one looking at succeeding in the CCNA certifications, just make sure you attend all the session.

I am also currently doing the CCNA course and have signed up for the security one too, i have bought the materials as i felt it was a very reasonable price so why not, but certainly not pressured to do so. I do intend on doing any courses they offer in the future that i fell may be relevant, Joe is very nice and a good tutor, nothing but praise for the whole setup.

    Highly recommended

I'm on the CCNA running now. I wasn't expecting much but it has been great so far, really informative and Joe is a great presenter.

The thing I am not looking forward to is going on until 1am for this course then getting up at 6 for work so I will have to see how it goes. I know there will be other courses run earlier in the evening such as CCNP so keep an eye out for them.
  38. -xn's avatar
He should really have done the classes the other way around, surely it's easier teaching CCNA than CCNP, but then again I see why it might not be
