Realistically:do kidz' phones 6gb ram/128gb for £90-£100 and/or 4gb ram/64gb for £50-£60 exist?

Hi fellow HJKDers, I'm pondering if for Xmas or by BF I should buy 2 smartphones for my 7 and 9 years old kidz instead of tablets, since they are already asking for it,especially the older one (also because probably I'll buy 2 cheap big laptops for their homework instead of Fire tablets or cheap ones, they will need real windows laptops or chromebooks at least).

I've started recently to check the current deals and so far I'm not yet convinced. I'm ok with refurbs if proper and with warranty but wanted to try to tighten the budget. £90 for a 6gb ram/128gb for more future proofness seems quite unrealistic I know, but sometimes you got lucky if you click fast..I might go for a £50 4gb ram/64gb as well but I would like to settle my kidz for at least 3 years with no much fuss..

So please if anyone could help me find those deals whenever they might become available, I'd be deeply grateful.

It's None of my business really. Just my observation and opinion.

Why would a 9 year old or younger need a powerful smartphone. Children are supposed to be 13 to sign up to anti social media! Do you really want to start exposing and subjecting them to the online onslaught, possible addiction and dangers so young.

Oh don't worry. I won't leave the phones to my kids unsupervised,it's an at-home-replacement for the cheap tablets basically. My network is already set with strict parental control. For those few times we might be going out,for the purpose of being reachable in certain scenarios, the phones will become kind of feature DORO phones.
My kids are already much self-aware of the online dangers, they understand that TikTok is stupid evil and there isn't any social connection online for them. Basically the phones are a sort of backup and will be modified to prevent any potential problem. That's the short explanation for you. (edited)

Go on eBay and use your requirements to filter out phones to see what’s available.

Doing it periodically but nothing found yet, surely will keep ongoing while approaching BF. I'm aware it won't be easy at such prices

Best option is to look at the mid range phones from 3 years ago. Refurbished, obviously.

4/64 would be painful to use. Get the 6/128.

Yeah I was thinking that probably nowadays 6/128 is the minimum future proofness to point to. Plus the prices differences compared to the 4/64 are not so big proportionally to the added benefits. I agree

You can get bargains with slightly damaged (but fully working) screens (and at that age the screen is unlikely to stay intact for long anyway). I think I hit your higher spec for £60 last year (with a small crack on the side of the screen) and your lower spec for £13 (another small crack in one corner). I'm writing this message on the latter.

Guys I know my requirements are tight price-wise and probably will have to spend a bit more, but refurbished or not, I want at least 12 month warranty for peace of mind somehow. That's also the difficult part at finding what I'm aiming at. (edited)
